Has anyone else seen this film?
I watched it in Film Studies at college a couple of weeks ago and loved it so much I finally got the dvd today. It's brilliant! It's a low-budget British film about a guy who returns to his hometown to get revenge on a gang, and he kills them off one by one. It sounds pretty lame when I explain it like that, but it's beautifully shot, well acted, funny in places, sad, violent and well written. Well worth watching!

There's a few Meadows/Considine fans on here, including myself, but I haven'tmanaged to see this yet. I know it'll be good though.
EDIT: You should check out A Room For Romeo Brass which was their first collaboration - in fact, check out all of Meadows' work - he's the best young director in the country.

Yeah, i loved it. As good a film as it was, i find it hard to watch it repeatedly as it's so distressing, although there are parts that are hilarious. It's sad that whether he kills them or not, whats done cannot be undone.

One of the best british films ever.
Warp Films Websitefor more background stuff. The graphic novel and OST are superb too.

THANKYOU!
God I have been trying to remember the name of that film for far too long.

Unnecessary old film fakery on the flashbacks. Beyond that Dead Man's Shoes was brilliant in the most horrible way.

Ah, reading all these lovely comments I'm filled with a warm (and reasonably undeserved) sense of pride. My friends are cool.

Do you know Shane Meadows, then? (You know, now I've typed that I've got a feeling you've mentioned this before. Or am I going nuts?)

I think I probably have. I've met Shane but I don't know him. I do know a lot of the people in his films though (excluding Considine).
