Simon Pegg and co do his own version of a sci-fi film!

After listening to his episode 1 rants in spaced and seeing how he obviousley loves zombie films, i think he would make an awesome sci-fi film!

anyone agree?

or am I just a noob 6 months behind everyone else?

Aren't zombie films considered a branch of Sci-fi?

All this categorisation just stifles things... But zombie films are generally categorised as a branch of Horror, which, over here at least, is more a cousin of Sci-Fi than a branch.

I'm sorry but all I'm getting is "tree relatives" here...

But yeah, I would generally categorise Zombie flicks as horror for the whole gore aspect.

Imagine if Simon and Edgar got the go ahead to make a bona fide Star Wars movie (and that they actually wanted to!)

Man that would be sweet!

You mean have someone that loves and cherishes the original legacy and knows what they are doing to carry it on? Hmmm, that could work. happy.gif

You know it makes sense. I think Nick Frost would make a much better comedy sidekick than Jar Jar in TPM (this is how I'm seeing Pegg and Wright casting it, anyway). I can just see it now...

or Chewwie? tongue.gif (no offence Nic)

Edit - before anyone blasts me for it, i know that "Chewwie" is possibly spelt incorrectly, but i wasn't in the mood to check the official spelling of a fictional character's nickname!

I won't mention it

Jess from Fangirlmag talked with Simon about how the video games and spinoffs are better than the films these days, and about the rumor that Kevin Smith might do something SW related for TV; the idea that the Pegg might lobby for a role as a Jedi was met with bemusement and cautious enthusiasm, I think. happy.gif

"Ah, young padawan."
"Hello Blondie."
*Nomis Ggep stabs the padawan.*
It could work.

This really doesn't have much to do with the future of Spaced, so I'm chucking it in the SotD section, as you all seem to talking about or around it.
