Not many people know that I do enjoy orchestral music, heck, I was in a string orchestra for about 4 years throughout school and college (I played the viola!)
I find it exciting and get the same emotions as i get when I go to the theatre which is always special.Now Im not a crazy classical music nut who listens to it all the time on classic fm(Im a big Beatles and Queen fan) infact I never pop a cd on but I do try to watch the proms each year.
I have a very good reason to try and watch it this year though. Either last year or the year b4 i think it was, I was watching the young british orchestra (string? i dunno) and kept an eye out for an old school friend of mine that once dated my best mate (hes a year younger lol) who is a musical genius. Sure enough i spotted him with his hair completely messed up doing a smashing job on the violin. I also noticed the cameras kept trying to cut the wild guys head out of shot alot lol
I believe he will still be there this year unless hes gone onto a bigger orchestra (seriously he was bloody fantastic at music) so Ill keep an eye out for him on the telly when im not busy.
Anyone else watch the proms?
