I've been playing for just over 2 years now. I'm currently deciding which multi-effects pedal to buy, the Zoom GFX-3 being the most likely choice.

I quit ten years ago to play keyboards and learn production and then quit that as well. Now I just listen to music. My flatmate is trying to teach himself but he hasn't played his for a good few months.

I have been playing guitar for four years. But at the moment I’am going through that phase of I don’t feel like playing everyday.

I've just blown the dust off my cheap encore coaster...which I think I bought from the exchange in Notting Hill. I never got beyond basic chords really. Couldn't understand what the rest of the neck was for
...I'll put the dust back now.

That's like me. I really should start playing.

I was guitarist for a band when I was in sixth form, but I never really got all that serious, or particularly good at it. About the best thing I could play was the guitar solo at the end of Alive by Pearl Jam, and I could play about half of a song called "Black Rose Immortal" by Opeth (and I'll point out that half of that song is still actually a good ten minutes). I haven't picked up my guitar properly for a few years.

I play bass guitar just for fun really. I can't read music so I work from tabs and by ear. Not played in a while as I've been too busy repairing things around the house.

I've been playing for 10 years now. Been in and out of bands for that time, gigging, recording etc. I'm in a punk band at the moment, make a bit of pocket money busking at the weekends and really just love playing.
I've got 4 guitars but my pride and joy is a 60's reissue strat thet's called Beth

I’ve just finished learning to play Comfortably Numb. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

It's not that bad at all really hmmm let me think...
Bm, A, G, G/F, Em, Bm
D, A, D, A, C, G, C, G, A, C, G, D
Easy as pie

The solo's are a little trickier but very playable. I prefer playing Wish You Were Here personally

Been playing for just over two years and am quite good. The best thing I can play (From a technical standpoint) is All Along The Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix, though I can't quite do it justice since I've never really bothered with pedals and that.
I'm currently working my way through the Jeff Buckley songbook and am struggling with 'Hallelujah'. I'd probably do well with it if I sat down and played it for a while but I don't seem to have the time anymore.

i can play 'hallelujah', though my current fave to play is 'je n' en connais pas le fin' from the sin-e ep. [/smug]
i've been playing for years and was in bands when i was younger, and i'm currently playing with this canadian guy who has managers and agents sniffing around him. but really i'm just waiting until i'm forty years old and i can play folk music and smoke a pipe. seriously.

I'm competent at rhythm and never really pushed myself to become better until the last six months. I only ever learned to play so I could write complete songs rather than just lyrics

Learned 'The Passenger' by Iggy Pop last night. It's only 5 chords but it's so much fun to play.

I play but I'm terrible. I haven't picked it up in ages because I need a new lead and have been poor recently. I've been teaching myself for a few years and I can play other stuff, which only makes me frustrated when I can hear how crap I am.

I don't think Bellamy is the greatest guitar player ever (see the old thread about great guitar players) but I do appreciate his abilities as a player and the skill with which he rips of as many classical composers as he can. Good pianist as well, talented bloke.
Johnny Marr rules though, he just does.
