Die Hard is far too intelligent for a dumb but fun action flick. I love Die Hard - I think its one of the best action films ever made, but its not as brainless as the other films the mini-fest would be showing.

And if you dispute Equilibrium, then something like The One or The Transporter could easily replace it.

I saw it many moons ago. It was shown a midweek early evening on BBC2 - one of those little surprises you accidentley stumble upon.

Me, I love the car-cable-train scene.

i remember when it was on, it was part of a series of monday night films on bbc2, this was the first one, followed the week after with;

brotherhood of justice - a storming slice of 1986 highschool vigilante fun, featuring keanu reeves, kiefer sutherland and billy zane...
