Full Version: How to be EMO

I know I wouldn't have liked to see a film like this about goths when I was so goth/black metal 6 years back...but This is rather funny.
The guy who showed this was shocked that he actually dressed exactly how they say in this vid...heh...minus some details. Of course, who really cares..but this is still well made and a good snicker. These guys have done their home work.
Ingram
That is brilliant. Especially the glasses bit biggrin.gif
I-am-the-movie
Is it okay that i was totally attracted to him, emo-style? cept the voice...
ARGH huh.gif
stinketta
ah, me too unfortunately. as much as i take the piss out of the emo scene, it does make the majority of people more attractive to me.
I-am-the-movie
me too! I generally dont like emos but they're so hot! normally.
Blind I/O
Bunch of posing twats.

I made space for it. It was mildly amusing. In a very mild way
Ohio_is_for_lovers
Yup its a sad world where emos are highly attractive but most of them seem complete tossers. It makes me laugh though at all the kids who were like in the year below who suddenly went emo because it was the cool thing to do.

Nah, I'm clothed at the mo.

The world's most EMO boy has just started work in our cafe. I may even stealth whore him later. It's brilliant, he can barely raise his head let alone get you a coffee. Everything takes him twice as long as the other staff members, because he's just so deep and his glasses are so thick and his hair's too floppy.

I don't know I haven't heard him speak yet, just shuffle around with his head down being deep.

Ahh of course, your being a pretty girl intimidates him to the point that he cannot speak to you. He probably writes songs about you on his acoustic when he goes home.

Of course it's over one eye, that signifies how stylish he is, while the thick glasses are a juxtaposition, showing that he is a geek. Emo kids are the ultimate paradox.

NB: FUN GAME!

This is a game which can be played at most music festivals. I like to call it 'Spot the Emo'.

Take one music festival featuring emo bands, such as My Chemical Romance et al. Emo kids flock in their hundreds to watch the shouty fuckers. You then proceed to 'spot the emo' and rate them out of 10. You may chant 'E-MO' ad nausium if you wish.

Voila.
stinketta
i like that game too. bonus points for emo couples.
feck off!

Yea , but i always thought that there's a difference between beating , and a 'pit'. I've fallen down in one many times and been helped up , not just left there to be trampled. I've helped several people out of a similar situation as well. If you go in the pit , you've got to expect a certain degree of rough stuff. smile.gif

That's the whole fun part. If you can't stand the heat, stay outta the pit (Or something).

And I like thick glasses- am I gonna be shot now?

No, I actually quite like them too, and I have a pair of 'emo' style glasses, but only because I look cute and intellectual when I wear them. And I need them. But my hair isn't black, I have no lip piercing (or any, for that matter) and I don't look at the floor all the time, contemplating utter doom and sadness.

Me too.

I HATE EMO, and all it stands for. They`re not even that sad, anyway. Joy Division, now they were sad and despairing. The EMO lot, they`re just whiny.

When the feck did big stupid looking birds become stylish?

They've never gone out of style.

I don't get the whole EMO thing. How can you tell if someone is 'EMO' or just sad? What's the difference? Is there one? huh.gif

What the fuck does this mean? Have the Emo kids formulated their own language?
The number of Emo kids on myspace is staggering.

Emo was something (read inside), but over time began to twist and warp into something else that we know today.

Best I can say, really, I'm no music guru.

Damn straight. I'm a glasses-wearing, long haired, Joy Division fan. I've never pretended I was interesting because of my sadness, though - it's not something to be celebrated or aspired to. I wear black and have long hair because that's how I like it, not because all the cool kids do (none of them'd ever pay as little attention as I do to their appearance, anyway). [Hah - "I'm more individual than them" South Park goths, anyone? Heehee...]

Fact is, I've been a sad little monkey for most of my life, and I've never fitted in with anyone, which is what emokids try to emulate. It never made me want to look like a tosser. On purpose, anyway.

Psuedo-intellectual, attention-seeking, fashion victim pricks the lot of them. I'm sick of emokids. They're like uninteresting and unamusing goths. They're one of the few trend followers that really piss me off. A lot.
Starscream`s Ghost
They`re the human embodiment of Marvin the Paranoid Android, but without the charm.
frostitute
I think Sarcasm`s Ghost is Emo.

IMO.

Scene is what Emo is called here now. Kids aren't Emo anymore, they're "Scene". So how long did that last? A year maybe?
Starscream`s Ghost
About 2, I`d say. At least they`re not calling it punk anymore.
