volume one hits around the end of january, the second in april. i wonder if the uk will get the same dates...
also; it seems as if mk2 have finally got round to securing the 17 deleted scenes, from 'fire walk with me', that lynch has selected to be included on their 2007, two-disc special edition...

Wah! Must see! I watched the first series for the first time earlier this year, and by golly is it great stuff! But why does Germany get it first? They've also got the special edition of Sin City while we're still stuck with the vanilla version! Why?!

As I have never seen it, is it worth getting episodes 1-7 or will this just leave me fuming at the fact that the other 23 aren't available yet?
Also, given that the set only contains seven episodes, why does it cost over £25?

Since it appears you will have to wait no longer than six months for series two, I'd say it was well worth investing in series one. You will be frustrated like nothing else until that second box-set, but in the meantime you can enjoy one of the best television series ever made. It also appears you're looking in the wrong place to buy the DVDs - £25 seems excessive and I'm sure I've seen it for less.

Actually £25 seems to be about the going rate. As well as episodes 1-7 you also get the feature-length pilot.

Just bought Series One - £16.99 but slightly less with a student discount. That was in Virgin.
Popped into HMV on the way home and saw it for £29.99! Blimey!

Just finished Season One!
Glad to see Cooper on the front of the Season 2 DVD because after he got shot in episode 7 I was a little bit upset that he might not be in the rest.
I am guessing then that Leo
either was innocent of the murders or there was yet another accomplice. And that the same person bashed Dr Jacobi on the bonce.
This is an excellent show but I'm just bummed out that I will have to wait so long to see the rest

I watched Season 1 again recently and was glad to see it was as good as I remembered, right down to being incredibly scared when Bob first appears at the end of Laura's bed.
It's just incredibly annoying that the ending to the series was spoiled for me by one of those fucking list shows a few years back. I hadn't heard of the series then, so didn't mind too much, but now it really pisses me off. I'd have loved to have watched the show fresh, without knowing the ins and outs.

Even worse is the later one where
Donna and James leave Maddy alone in the living room, and she sees Bob slowly emerge from the foyer and climb over the sofa at her. Jesus, that freaked me out.

Lynch and Frost really knew how to make relatively uncreepy things scary as hell. The one from the first series is only about two seconds long yet I find it utterly terrifying. Even when they reshow it on the ''previously on Twin Peaks'' bits it still sends a shiver down my spine.

Depends on if you're watching the pilot proper or the ''European'' Pilot. The European Pilot is the version which was made in case the series bombed and they could just release the first episode as a movie. This version includes a lengthy dream sequence at the end and a rushed ending, but as far as I'm aware doesn't come with the Season 1 boxset, so you should only have the proper pilot.
It doesn't give anything away unless you've already seen the whole series and therefore can look back on it and spot things that recur in other episodes. Other than that it sets things up for the rest of the series. If you don't watch it then you'll have no idea what is going on.

Ah, the diary. I could never figure out if the story about the older boys at the lake was something she was given to write about, or if she came up with it and they lifted it for the series. (Donna starts telling the story to Harold at one point.)
So, are the features on the R2 season one box the same as the US one? (The Twin Peaks directory, all the great nonsensical interviews, etc.)? I'd like to trade up for S1 plus the pilot, but if it has fewer features I'd just as soon keep my R1 box, which even on Half.com is expensive as it's out of print now. Just trying to figure out if I could land it cheaper than it would cost to (finally) pick up the Hong Kong pilot disc.

Did you watch the Jennifer Lynch interview on the R1 box yet?
She was given a rough outline of things and people she must include, but had free reign to write the rest. Two of the stories are apparently things which actually happened to her - the one she was prepared to admit being the dream about eating her own foot off.
Is it wrong to fancy her a bit? I mean, she's David Lynch with tits...
