i notice that there's a few on her who seem to buy one or two dvds from time to time (sostie) and i was just wondering if, like me, you have a largish pile of dvds waiting for your attention.

I'm really bad for this, I buy and borrow constantly so I've always got at least 6 waiting to be watched. I do get through them eventually though.

Some sit in my pile for years.
The ones that spring to mind (although admittedley, I have seen some of these before on TV etc) are:-
Wings of Desire
Betty Blue (extended cut)
Reservoir Dogs (special edition)
Chocky (on loan from Katekinz!!!)
Monkey Dust (series 1)
Kath and Kim (series 1 - disc 2)

Well I'm in the last category..
Quite a few that I have never seen, some to make up a series (do I really need Howling 2-6!!!), loads of video replacements I'll probably never get round to watching in the near future, and piles of Asian films that I get in one of my regular bulk buys. Really should tone it down.

Three in particular that I haven't watched - Don't Look Now and Secretary (which I've never seen) and Infernal Affairs (which I have). I'm tempted almost every night to watch them but end up doing the ironing.

Only a couple left now, there were around six or seven at the start of the week though.

I've got three on my shelves that I haven't got round to watching. There are a few more packed away in the garage though - mostly video replacements that I havent yet bothered to watch on DVD.

Oh, it's funny that you started this thread. I was just about to ask you if your "to watch pile" was actually a pile. Mine definitely is....piled on the floor, on the shelf, etc
I put myself in the second to last category because I can't afford to buy many. Otherwise I would probably be in the last one there with Sostie.

I tend to buy DVDs and then never watch them! I don't know why.

We use Blockbuster online, so we've usually got one or two waiting to be watched before we send them off. Vince, however, tends to watch them while I'm at work and then send them back before I've got to see them, the bastard. He does it all the time - his reasoning is that because I'm busy working odd hours, I don't watch all of the movies the day we get them so we aren't maximising our movies-per-month and getting the full benefit of the rental. I try to point out that I'm getting none of the benefits, but he's a skinflint about things sometimes. When I've got a bank account and a debit card, I'm going to set up my own account with Netflix so I can watch what I like.

I own Whale Rider. Which I haven't watched. And I won't be watching it this weekend. I still have The Shield (Season 2) and Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory* to get through.
*Speaking of which; I have Metal Gear Solid 2: The Sons Of Liberty knocking around the house. Which I haven't played - and don't plan on doing so anytime soon. Can we count unplayed games with unwatched films?

Yeah, do it to it!
Besides, once you've watched like 4 or 5 films you're getting the rest of the month for free anyway.

I bought Donnie Darko at the end of July (I think) and I still haven't watched it... I might have a Disney marathon at the weekend, just because I want to feel like a child again

I have Dogville and Buffalo 66 (both never seen), Withnail & I (which I've seen heaps of times but not watched since I bought), Angel season 4 (as of last weekend), and my mate Dave has just lent me Miller's Crossing.
So why the hell am I on here?

I have a couple of dvd's from Czech that I must get round to watching. I was determined to buy some when over there coz its so difficult to get them here, plus they're expensive, but its such a rip-off over there too!

Only Secretary & Gladiator remain for me to watch so I'm pretty clear to watch enormous amounts of Boosh. Chaos Theory & MGS2 are both top games Jinx, I advise you play both of them soon.

Usually three at any given time. Because that's how many blockbuster will send in one go.

I can't do the Blockbuster thing cos I have too many too watch as it is - not quite in Sostie's league, but I have got between 15 and 20 off ebay this month.

I have about seven, which is more than usual. Largely due to the recent sale at HMV and my remote control being broke meaning I can't use headphones to watch films at night without disturbing people.

well, it's more like three piles on a shelf. there's probably between 30-40 films (maybe more) there to be watched. i got down to about 20 in the summer, but then i put a few simultaneous orders in and before i know it...

I was ok when I started, I'd get through about 12 DVDs a month, so I was definitely getting my money's worth... Now I've just got no free time whatsoever.

Me too. Has been on shelf for two months and not even out of plastic. Mind you, had producers for nigh on 10 months special edition DVD and not removed plastic but I've seen it before. Got a few other asian DVD's and stuff like Team America that was on sale so I picked up a copy.
