How ace was this show. Was the irreverent film review program with a lanky, timid Scotsman and a short, crazed Welshman that was on late on Channel 4.

Had some proper odd skits, reviewed some real godawful smutty, culty, violent horror films and were generally hilarious in their own depraved way. Was like the Adam and Jo show with more swearing and cool movie reviews.

Wonder if we'll see them on DVD someday...

Anyone remember?

ooh! The little blonde one!!
How fabulous was that.

Join us after the break, for a bit of THIS.

*brief smut clip*

Always made me stick around, let me tell you.
The Mystery Machine
I loved that show. A bit like Adam and Joe in their "we've got no budget but we'll use a bit of imagination and intelligence" approach.
The Mystery Machine
Ah... you already mentioned them. Well, great minds and er that. biggrin.gif

I've got a few episodes recorded here and there on video (along with other 4Later shows like Exploitica, The Trip and Mortal Kombat: Conquest - yessiree!) and it still cracks me up.

Nige and Stef were great and I loved their spin-off 'Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey'-esque show where they die and go to heaven, as well as their brief Vidzilla intros to classic Godzilla films shown when the Emmerich Hollywood movie was doing the rounds.

Where are you when we need you?!

I had a few short 30 second efforts on before-inbetween-and after it, do you remember the Do Not Sleep campaign C4 had on then. Webcam movies made by viewers with something to say (so long as it conformed to a whole pile of wank set by the legal dept, that they didn't tell you about until after you'd made and uploaded a 5 meg movie over dial-up)

Anyways Nigel and Steph (for it were they) both lived in Glasgow at the time, You still see Steph kicking about, I used to love his long overblown critiques of movies.

In fact it used to be a thing I'd impersonate whenever I say a particaularily shit film.

Might do that again actually...smile.gif

I used to see them both all the time when i lived in Glasgow 98-04. I even saw them filming Vidz on Byres Rd. Stef lived just off said road and i saw him manys-a-time with his wee dog sat outsite his flat having a tab. And Nige once dropped a can of sweetcorn in Safeway and i picked it up and he said 'thanks'. Showbiz there.

Vidz was excellent. I loved the reviews of obscure stuff like B-movies with Shannon Whirry and slightly odd martial arts films with porny bits in them.

Vidz was fantastic

It was where I discovered the delighfully descriptive term "fanny like a wizards sleeve"

I liked the Welsh fella but the Scottish one always looked a bit uncomfortable about being on telly, in the same way that Stuart Maconie used to.

Ah Vidz, back when late night channel 4 was good. Now its all on some other 4 derivative channel. What about Bits? That was top computer game telly if you ask me. Ahhh, Bouff (was that her name) what dodgy TV are you making now? Out There TV was a step down (albeit a slightly less dressed step down) for you...

Actually, Evil Aliens (the film she's in) has actually been well received at various film festivals such as FrightFest and Raindance. Not that I've seen it...

Wonder what Nige and Steph would think of it...
m0r1arty
I think Tartan films make it, I saw a trailer for it once on, now let me think, some piece of shit 'arty' film anyways - Wasn't Enduring Love, but something as wanky

In fact full seedy listings - The trailer I saw was for one with vampires I think, something gothy anyways.

Good lookin gal though, and into computer games!

Wow, she was in a film with Michael Ironside! That certainly ups her in my estimations. Though the vampire film reminds me of this low budget flick being made by this director my brother did work experience with (including DTV crap horror flicks Sanitarium - with Uri Gellar - and Hellbreeder - with Dominique Pinon and Darren Day). It stars Tom Savini and features naked vampire angels running around the woods. huh.gif

What happened to the other Bits girl? Not the American one (she does spots on The Gadget Show from time to time and appears on Richard and Judy whenever they're getting sensational about violent video games and they need someone to take the blame), but she was called Emily as well. I liked her. rolleyes.gif

Working in Morrisons now by the looks of it

Her name is Emily Newton Dunne, and she drew an almost blank on google.

The smelly American one is called Aleks Krotoski and is on the right of the above piccie.

Be nice to bring back Vids and Bits

And Spaced!
