anyone else noticed that Gorillaz might be George A Romero fans as they've used samples of both dawn and day on both there albums.
The dawn sample is on demon days track 2 - 'last living souls' i think its the bit when flyboy is in the boiler room, and the day sample is on there first album, track 15 - 'M1 A1'.
I just found it quite interesting s'all

That's funny, because I just rewatched Day this weekend & freaked out when I realized that it was sampled by Gorillaz.
Don't they zombies in one of their videos?

There are Zombie Gorillas in the Clint Eastwood video, it's brilliant stuff. Must try and find a copy of it somewhere.

Damon Albarn is quite a fan I believe, in fact at the start of the video for Clint Eastward, some Japanese writing appears at the bottom of the screen which is then translated into:
''The dead rise and kill, those they kill rise and kill''
Or something along those lines (I can't get it exactly right) which is a line from Night Of The Living Dead I believe.

Maybe Dennis Hopper guesting on 'Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head' is a semi-reference to Land of the Dead?
...
No?

Well, that seals it for me.

And the quote is from Dawn..... "those they kill get up and kill!"

Thanks for the correction, all I could remember was that it was said by the guy on the TV who advocates the destroying of the corpses.

Terrorism reference? Demon Days is meant to be a bit of a concept album I read somewhere, but I'm enjoying the beats too much to change my frame o' mind at the moment.

More like a Zombie reference but I could see the terrorist thing.
It's probably not a concept album but more like an album that has an underlying theme. Dipping into Albarn's previous work for a suitable comparison, 'Parklife' was an album bemoaning the loss of a certain idea of 'Englishness' nut it didn't tell as story, I think this is the case with Demon Days.
