The night begins in the usual way, cold standing outside waiting for doorman to open up. Everyone outside is excited waiting an extra 2 months for this show due to the bands illness, but the bands fans are a devoted lot many waiting in the unusual cold desperate to see the Essex trio.
once in, the show kicks off with up and comers Sweet Suzy blaring out there own brand of heavy metal /emo, they provide some light relief if only to see a band take themselves too seriously.
shortly after Northern Ireland natives Fighting with wire break onto stage churning out formulaic memo, however it reminds us what was good with the formula providing an impressive start for a band who could move on to headlining there own tour soon. From my vantage point near the bar I see the mush pits erupt, tonight's is a very energetic crowd.
As FWW leave the stage I delve into the crowd preparing for InMe, the crowd are rabid several chants of "InMe" break out. the fans are waiting, as the band set up the academy tech's put of SOAD's Chop suey the crowd so hyped they sing and mosh to the stereo, InMe have they're work cut out for them. ..>
Suddenly the boys burst onto stage and the crowd worries that with the screaming they have just done will they still be able to hear the band. The fans screamed loud.
Suddenly the opening riff of the hit 7 Weeks breaks out the crowd erupt as does the mosh pit, as the boys blister through the song with the breakneck pace we come to expect.
Each song sounds like the album track just with twice as much passion behind each note. Much to the surprise of the crowd they exit the stage. The other in my mosh pit stand in defiance chanting "we want InMe" and we are rewarded, sporting a country and western shirt Dave slinks back on stage with an acoustic guitar to belt out title track white butterfly. Then the band reappear wearing cheap hair metal wigs to close the set.
The crowd dissipate satisfied InMe returned triumphant givng fans a Performance of pure energy and passion showing all the fans how it's done. Posted on Dave's stand was the phrase "this time is McPhersonal" and it was, and I am glad.
