TV's Theroux returns to BBC TwoYay!
Let's hope it's a return to the Weird Weekend style show rather than the Louis Meets . . . series though!

Brilliant! I was wondering the other day if we'd ever see him again.
I think there's someone who might very well be his brother doing a documentry (on channel 4 I think) soon too! Does anyone know if this is true?...or did I just dream it?!
So did anyone see it yesterday?
The Most Hated Family in AmericaFor those that did, I know everyone is entitled to there own views and opinions but as a gay man if I'd met any member of that church or family I'd happily introduce my fist to their face!
Still a great opening episode though and I wonder how many complaints the BBC will get about the Princess Diana whore banner that was shown.

YepIt's not strictly a series, Louis is making ten documentaries for the BBC to be shown over three years. Last night was the second. Could be months before the next one. More to the pity.

I liked what I saw, but I missed a lot (forgot it was on). Even the bit I saw showed them to have really confused dogma.

The head of that church was so obviously just an angry man with no clue about anything he was saying. Fair enough that he didn't answer Louis' question about how many kids he had but when he approached him with intelligent questions that he obviously didn't want to/or know the answers to he just shot them down as stupid while everyone looked on and smiled laughing at how intelligent and great he is.
What I found the most depressing was that the bloke who claimed to be an intelligent journalist was taken in by it all and brought his whole family into the church. Also, the emotional warring that you could see going on in the minds of some of the young girls was genuinely sad to watch as they fought with what they were told to believe against what they actually see in the world.
It was one of those programmes that I felt genuinely drained after watching although it made for great viewing.

But in doing so, they'd claim you're proving them right.
You can't win with that sort of zealot, I mean, we're talking about a set of people who want to ban Swedish vacuum cleaners.

I might have missed their reason but I couldn't work out what they had against Swedish vacuum cleaners. Were they like Austin Power's Swedish "vacuum cleaner"?

A Swedish pastor had been stopped by the government from preaching that all gays were evil, etc.
That was apparently reason enough to hate all Swedes.

a swedish court had taken a dim view of a preacher who was taking a similar stance to them. hence, sweden became their target. as sweden was a plane ride too far, a shop which sold swedish made vacuum cleaners was their best bet...
the mind boggles...
They don't hate Sweden, God hates Sweden.

Their God might. Mine doesn't. Which is why I refuse to say 'God hates Sweden'.
I know it's silly, but it really bothers me to even see it written.
You've got to have a sense of humour about these things.
Like the young lady who finds the idea of Louis going to hell so funny. I reckon she fancied him really, the giggly minx. All this talk of damnation is just a cover.
Did you see the little boy who got hit by a slurpy? He looked like Ben Mitchell.

Somebody
should hit Ben Mitchell with a slurpy, the miserable little fucker. Even whilst Stella is torturing and traumatising him with her vile escapades, he still manages to consistently come out of it looking like a bigger dickhead than she does.

Did anyone else think for a few seconds that the car that sped off had actually hit one of the people? Until they did a shot of the empty plastic cup, I was totally baffled at what had happened to the kid and was wondering why the police hadn't been called to what seemed to me to be some sort of hit and run accident.
Maybe I was just being a bit slow that day.

No I thought that as well. They showed the car speeding off, Louis looking concerned and then we heard the woman say "did they hit someone... they hit someone?" then run over towards a group of people.
So I thought the same until I saw the cup as well.

I enjoyed it last night, really quite fascinating, although I think it could have benefitted from more time spent with the guards.
Some of the statistics trundled out were a bit on the sad side, re-offending just seems so high.
