Meh.
I sometimes listen to the show at my desk, but I don't like the guy currently on before Adam and Joe (on the rare occasions I have to be up early on a Saturday morning) so I'm happy.
The slot may suit him better.

I can't be sure, though, as he sounds just like Shack!

Having only just seen this I can confirm we're different peas in a similar pod.
One day we'll remake "The Odd Couple" only our differences won't be so apparent.

Does anyone know how certain it is that 6Music is on the way out? I'd be gutted personally as, outside of the car, it's the only radio station I ever bother listening to!

I was literally about to fork out £45 on a very nice DAB radio, with alarm clock, for the sole reason of being woken by the lovely sound of 6Music without having to get out of bed and switch the telly on when the news of its probable demise came out. Pointless getting one now. It's pretty much the only music radio station I regularly listen to. It's going to leave a massive hole in my routine - if you can call it that - when it goes.

Consider my views submitted. It says that if it does go then it won't be until at least the end of 2011 which gives us plenty of time to try and stop it, but also gives all the decent talent plenty of time to go elsewhere...

Indeed. It's still a shame if the axe does fall on it though, even if i've listened to it slightly less in recent months(And we don't have Adam and Joe there anymore, which means less are tuning into that slot). Spotify has kinda taken over for me.

I think that's starting to happen already, Adam and Joe have gone, they were my initial reason for listening to 6music at the weekend, now Jon Richardson's going too I doubt I'll listen at all. I'd like to impale George Lamb on something.

Are there any other good alternative digital stations? I'd not really investigated until we realised you could listen to digital radio through an iphone.

XFM is alright but it is more commercial indie playlist stuff, although I haven't listened to it in a long time. I can see a lot of 6music's presenters going there in the future, considering that a lot of them came from there in the first place.

According to what I have heard, it's merely a suggestion at the moment and nothing has been officially decided.
Surely belt tightening across all facets of the BBC would work better than axing certain parts entirely?
I do love 6Music but have taken it for granted recently and not listened as much as I should have. Like a lot of others, it was one of the reasons I got a DAB radio, so if the decision is taken to lose it, I will be very sad.
Hopefully people like us will step in.

His guest will be legendary director and actor John Landis, who wrote and directed An American Werewolf in London. So you can expect a blood curdling playlist and the odd ghoulish twist on this Halloween.

I cannot recommend This American Life enough. It's now my favourite thing ever, and not just on the radio. I've been listening to the podcasts for a few weeks; but realising they have an archive going back to 1995 is like when the Count of Monte Cristo found all that treasure - BUT BETTER

If you have any interest in documentary or storytelling, it's some of the best examples of both I've ever heard.
