Oooh, Ellie! We're taking over Shack's show!
I'd totally forgotten about that incident until this evening. In retrospect it's quite funny, but I remember being rather distressed at the time...the teacher was far from happy about having to break school equipment and my finger had a bruised ring around it for days afterwards. Heh. Silly.

Your plan to not tell me failed due to a) the above and b) the text message you sent me telling you'd been asleep.
Thanks to everyone who mailed in, I love you all.

Thoroughly enjoyable show Mr Shack sir. Almost a Mark & Lard quality about it.
4 things I can't get out my head - an image of Julie up to her elbows in human offal, the Dunlop Green Flash song, an image of Ellie, as she looks now, looking sheepish in a classroom full of toddlers, and your lady guests goijus accent.

Glad you enjoyed it Mr S. A Mark & Lard comparison is like music to my ears.

Blimey, I'm not sure off the top of my head. The Research? The Long Blondes?
It was probably one of Fischer's.

I'm shameless. Listening back, it's the Research with a song called "C'mon Chameleon".
Buy the album, not only are they from Wakefield (a glamourous part of Northern England for the unititiated) but it's also dead good.

Over the last few weeks I've been helping my mates with their show and I've kinda become the third presenter of it, so if anyone wants to hear some strange music and the odd comment from me, listen to Hit The North on Saturdays at 10:00 at www.sureradio.com.
Might as well help your friends, eh?

Been busy for the last week or so, but on tomorrow's exciting Gobstopper show we have:
Gordon Cox - the man who is now without a moustache talking about Middlesbrough FC.
Verity Burton - singer/songwriter coming in to play a few tunes and chatter on.
Some bloke from the Guilty Pleasures club night (play Chas 'n' Dave and things) who I've forgotten the name of.
All the usual bollocks on e-mail as well, including breaks to write down what we've just said that might make a good album name.
We'll be waiting....

Tonight I finally caught the repeats of Down The Line, Radio 4's first live phone in radio show. It's one of those brilliantly incestuous comedies (in this case all The Fast Show/Harry Enfield etc alumni) that's easy enough to confuse for the real thing if you're not the sharpest tool in the box.
My personal highlight was the caller who labelled the presenter a twazzock during a debate on Free speech. And the Holocaust denier's boyfriend.

"So maybe just a 'What's Your Guilty Pleasure?' - Something you like to watch
or listen to or eat or drink or just... DO that you're a little bit ashamed
of. Treat Gobstopper as a confessional booth!"
Mail in your guilty pleasures so we can take the mick and/or sympathise and you'll get free CD's and goodies from the Guilty Pleasures man who's coming in.

In case I don't get round to it on air, our friend Mike was working the door at Joseph's Well a while ago and Miles Hunt was doing a solo set. Mike was chatting to his friend Neil round the corner from the stage, up a flight of stairs, when Miles stopping playing and told them to shut up.
Miles started playing again, at which point Mike put his head round the corner and shouted "SORRRRRRY!!!!".
Miles stopped playing, threatened to walk off, and the whole crowd turned round and booed Mike.
