Listening to Radio Two's The Record Producers. Tday focussing on Swain & Jolley. Imagination still sound quite phenomenal and I now have a new found respect for Spandau Ballet's True. I'll get over it.

On tonight's Gobstopper extravaganza:
We’re joined live by one of the UK’s top cult comedy actors. He’s bringing his musical show to Stockton next week… from The Mighty Boosh, it’s MATT BERRY!
As Cleveland CAMRA prepare to announce their Pub Of The Year, we’re joined in the studio by one of their leading lights – the lovely DENISE POWELL!
We catch up with a critically acclaimed indie band bringing their acoustic show to Middlesbrough next week – they’re the brilliant I AM KLOOT!
Plus we look forward to Middlesbrough’s final match of the season, an occasion being branded as a “retro day” – with fans encouraged to dress up in their ageing kits from yesteryear! We speak to the men whose idea it was, from supporters group The Twelfth Man, it’s GEOFF THOMAS and JOHN DONOVAN!
Check my signature for listening details, and if you'd like to submit a tale about old computers you used to use (last weeks hot topic is being rolled over), please send it to:

I reckon he'll be on first, so possibly at about half 7 once we've blathered on about my holiday and read out a few e-mails.
I would ask Fischer to confirm it, but I'm very lazy.

It was a fun show last night, although Matt Berry was somewhere between nervous and quietly coy. Very odd. We did get an unexpected call from the managing director of Chips (Teesside based computer store NOT TV themed around cops on motorbikes) which was good. I'm also waiting for confirmation that we can do an outside broadcast from a pub.
I think I'm probably going to miss I Am Kloot because the next day is my housewarming and I will need all my reserves of money and/or sleep.
Fischer is being drafted in for extra shows this week, so if anyone can listen live between 1pm and 4pm today or tomorrow and offer him electronic message support, he'd appreciate it.

It's always a little jarring the way Gobstopper ends so abruptly when you Listen Again. Good show, by the way.

Sadly not. I blame Julie - she should have told me during our first night in "Tronno" when I impressed her with my hockey knowledge and by the fact I called it hockey.
It's field hockey isn't it? (I googled)

I did. You just never listen to a word I say.
I'm just listening again now, this is priceless, Shack! It's either field or ball hockey, depending on the rules and the terrain... and the sticks. We discussed that just before you mentioned how our sports commentators were talking directly to you.

This Wednesday, a momentous event will be occurring:
The last ever, ever, ever edition of How To Recycle A Goat!
Rather than just sit and cry on air (though I will be doing so in between songs) I'll be playing just a load of good music and chatting with my mate Neil, who I have done some shows with in the past and who will give some slight structure to the rambles.
Playlist will include:
The Smiths (obviously), Kate Bush, Kraftwerk, The Fall, Dylan, Bowie, Blondie, Ramones, Clash, Aphex Twin, a couple of oddballs from various film soundtracks and a host of other stuff that I'll just choose on the day.
Link is in my signature.

On tonight's Gobstopper show....
- Fly Me To The Moon editor Rob Nichols comes in on the proviso we have the Champions League final on the telly in the corner...
- We interview Phil Cornell, the bloke what wrote last Saturday's Doctor Who episode...
- And we have live music from local singer-songwriter Bo Cayce.
We would also love love love people to mail in with "Things that are popular but you can't understand why..."
So even if you have one now, mail it in and we'll read it out later.
So far we have tomatoes, Jamie Oliver, The Champions League Final and oral sex.

I've sort of got into this habit of tidying the house on Sundays and listening to the past week's Gobstopper. It's proven a good way to kill three hours of time and be moderately productive. Usually, anyway. I was happy up until the guy who was just on (Paddy someone?). Maybe it was his cadence, or possibly the subject, but he was so boring. Bob and Shack must have been counting the seconds until they could put more music on.

Afternoon...
I think I am safe in saying this bit of information now, although I gather there have been some PM's kicking around, but after my next show on Gobstopper (the 4th of July - "..it will be OUR Independence Day..") I will become a fully fledged weekly sidekick for Bob "Bob" Fischer and will receive renumeration in the form of petrol and biscuit expenses.
Every Wednesday from then you will know where I am, a boon for stalkers and members of the fanclub.
Also, I've not been about for a while because I've been trying to get a few things sorted out. I'm not quite there yet, but I expect I'll be back at some point soonish in a fuller capacity. Peas out.

Honestly, you wait a while for exciting Shacknews and it all comes along at once...
Gobstopper podcast is happening in a matter of weeks as part of a big national BBC launch. Mr Barraclough (our bossy woss) has sorted it all and it'll be a weekly 20-minute compilation of speech from the show (no music allowed), and be on the main Beeb website.
Together we can make Gobcast great.
