I'm afraid Ade snuck the only very late entry spot last week. With the order sorted, addresses PM'd and 8 people in the loop I'll have to say you've just missed out this time. Sorry.
However, if someone drops out before the weekend you can take their place. If not, sorry again, you'll just have to wait for the next one.

I've sent you my address but I haven't had Sostie's yet.
I already have Senor Jessop's address, and have sent mine to Senor Sostie.

My cd was posted to Maian this afternoon. Cost me £1! Bleedin' postage hikes. The same package would've been 46p just 6 months ago. Grrr.

Right, CD is burned and ready to go. I really must apologise for the crappy artwork and unimaginative title. I am not the creative type. I'm not that pleased with the songs either but hopefully they'll be at least a couple of new songs or artists for everyone to enjoy.
I bet none of you can wait to receive my CD now!

Don't worry - I'm not the creative type either. Seeing as I can't draw to save my life and I can't print onto CDs, I should explain the crappy concept I used for the CD. There is a theory that the universe is
torus shaped, and seeing as a CD looks a bit like a cross-section of one, I nicked an idea from Douglas Adams and scrawled the title (which I also plagiarised) on it. I'm quitely confidant that no-one will like the actual compilation as well.

Mine was posted to Sostie yesterday and didnae cost me a thing since I misused the radio station's post privileges.
Also, my artwork is what I would refer to as impressionistic, by which I mean I can't draw to save my life so I drew something that sort of looks like something.

Oooh the sneaky sods. It's because they've changed the scales and they just show the weight rather than the prices. They could say bloody anything behind that counter.
Look forward to getting your cd tomorrow.

To ease the flow of the loop I have come up with a little device you can print out so you can keep up with what's going on even if you're not online.
Behold...
The Tape Loop De Loop

It has all the loopers in clockwise order with three sections to either tick, cross or colour in. The choice is yours. The sections are 'Recieved' 'Reviewed' and 'Sent' which you mark off when you recieve, review and then send that person's cd.
It's not essential, but it's there if you want use it.

The Tape Loop De Loop

This is why someone unemployed should always organise the Loops
However, it is looking increasingly likely that I will not be able to participate.
Despite having created an awesome and fully mixed compilation, I cannot burn the bloody thing to CD. I have tried everything I can think of, to no avail.
If I cannot make it work by the end of next week I will have to respectfully bow out.
Sorry guys.

The truth is you heard I got hold of Acoustica and knew you could not compete with a Sostie Mix.
Get it burning by hook or by crook...a loop wouldn't be the same without a Triple J Production

I have a possible solution, but it's one I won't be able to try until after my extremely busy, social-event-packed weekend.
May I suggest Alan Gimp does not have to post a review of my disc, and starts anew the following round?
Wife Of Rolex
Dec 6 2006, 07:55 PM
Well, when I say 2 week turnover I was more thinking the cds themselves. Reviews can come in at any order at any time as the listener can copy them before posting them on. Obviously it would be better if they did post a review in the 2 weeks they actually have the cd but if they can't quite manage it they'll have a copy to listen to and can post a review when they're ready.
I figured this would be easier as, with past Loops, it seems to break down when people lose time to make a review but then don't post on until all the reviews are in. In the end people don't get to hear all the cds before the Loop crumbles. So even if it's on the 4th post out, anyone who hasn't can post their reviews of the previous cds then and so on if they wish.
However, we must stick with the post out dates for it to work. No posting willynilly, it causes all sorts of trouble. But to give Jessop a chance to get his cd sorted (and a couple of others) I've put back the second post out until after christmas. People will be busy around now anyway and so listening, reviewing and posting out the cds at this time would probably be a bit more difficult than any other time so the first cds you get you'll have until the end of the year. So enough time for people to get their reviews in anyway. But after that, it will be every 2 weeks.

1) Sorry to hear Acoustica's giving you the arse'ole, DJ Three-J. Hope you get it sussed soonly dude.
That said, and after all my earlier moaning about Acoustica problems, not having the right program in the first place, and subsequent directions from your good self, I now feel
mildly embarrassed to say that I have successfully burned a test CD, tracks mark indexes and all...
Sorry.
It's about 92% set in stone, but I shall be tinkering with a couple or three tracks tonight, and then it's good to go. The final version probably won't burn to CD properly now, above smugness be damned.
I shall mail it either to Mr Jessop or Mr Gimp, pending confirmation of the former's Looping circumstances. Minor detail, but I'm still puzzling over what title to run with, and indeed the artwork... should be ready to mail by Fri/Sat.
2) Today received a CD entitled 'Garlic'. The sleeve's principal image alone gives away the fact that this CD could have only been sent by one Mr Sostie.

I look forward to giving it a spin very very soon.
3) Funky pie chart, Kelly. I shall colour it in with random flourescent markers, and make a psychedelic spinner with it once the Loop is complete. Oh yes.

Umm, it just sort of happened really. I chose the 'Burn CD' option, and went through the 'test burn' sequence too - I don't know whether you skipped this or not, or whether it has any bearing on the index marking process, but it worked. Plays fine in my car stereo too, which was as good a test as I could think to give it really.

Good news Loopers. I managed to burn my CD, but not before paying for a full version of Acoustica. Seems they have a way to tell if you have downloaded free trials before, and then prevent you making more discs. Fair enough, I suppose. I will mail this to Alan Gimp as soon as I can.
