You must of been watching a different program?
wink.gif

Bad and predictable story, bad CGI, bad acting, and bad continuity. Where did the big black gun go after they got out the lift?

I missed Man U scoring two more goals against Newcastle to turn over and watch this. sad.gif
curtinparloe
Interesting. Perhaps it should be a half hour show?

I didn't think the CGI was that bad, to be honest, and though the acting was hit-and miss, I've seen far worse on Primetime TV.
gulfcoast_highwayman
I didn't see it, but is it true that the Hannah in her pants stuff has been stopped?
Raven
Yes, you can read more about that here: 'Primeval' star complains about sexy scenes.

Yeah, it was pretty much tosh last night, as Baz said the continuity was terrible (stuff the gun, where did the second raptor go?!).

It's a bit of a shame, because I think Cutter is quite an interesting character, especially given the "history has changed" plot they've now worked into the series - hopefully they will do more with this over the series and not just go down the "monster of the week" route.
sofa
I find it all enjoyable Tosh. Don't take it too seriously and I especially like the Bwen Miller charector, completly over the top.

Primeval - Complete Series One - Only £6.95, if you really want a copy!

Is anyone else still watching?

I thought this week's episode was slightly better than the last two - mainly because they didn't spend the entire episode being chased around. I'm interested to see where the "double agent" plot line is going, and I'm starting to get the sneaking suspicion that they may press the reset button at the end of this series and have Cutter correct the problem they created at the end of series one.

It's all still bobbins though!

it is, although i seem to keep popping over to shack's and finding him watching it. still, i think we're both happy to watch hannah mooching around and i'm pretty sure that shack'll be as upset as i am, to discover that we didn't watch it when she used to mooch around in her pants...

unless shack used to watch it and kept quiet about it...

I am. It's cack, but quite enjoyable cack. The CGI at the end of the last episode was particularly bad.

i don't think you'll find anyone who disagrees...
Shack
I'm finding it enjoyable fluff, despite the terrible CGI, the fact most of the plots tend to wobble around in the same direction and the fact that Hannah now keeps her clothes on.

Perhaps I like it because it's usually when I eat my tea because I've been sat laughing at You've Been Framed and TV Burp beforehand.

I guess I use it in the same way as Friends, although not in the same league of quality, as I can just shovel food into my face without having to pay attention to the television that much.
Raven
The longer they stick with the monster of the week format, the less inclind I am to keep watching it, but I do like Cutter - as a character - and I think the basic premise of the show is quite good.

It's just a pity - as with Torchwood - that the execution is so poor.

As Shack says though, for watch while you eat TV, it does what it says on the tin really.
Raven
Third series for ITV1's 'Primeval'.

I'm not surprised, I hadn't realised so many people were watching it, but it's pretty much perfect switch-off-and-watch Saturday night viewing.
sofa
Struggled with it this week. Maybe the episodes are just too similar.

I have never seen this show but Ben Miller is in it apparently. Should I bother?

Yes. It's forgettable fun, but well-produced forgettable fun.
Raven
What was this week's all about?

Sharks with teeth on their tongues and mutant walruses that like kidnapping basketball players and fit young animal handlers.

Utter tosh.

(still enjoyed it though!).

You could just see that coming from the moment the girl mentioned it in the flat.

It got a cheer when it finally arrived!
Raven
I watched this weekend's last night - best one so far, even if it is a tad simplistic plot wise.

I get the impression the sub-plot with Helen in it would be a lot stronger if they were giving us a better idea of what the hell is going on!

This week's episode could be good, as it has been written by Paul Cornell, the writer of Doctor Who episodes Father's Day, Human Nature and The Family of Blood.

Sorry.

Is it the season finale this weekend? I must say, for a big pile of poo, Primeval is very enjoyable TV.
Shack
What size is Cutter's jacket?

I'll take it.

I must watch Primeval tomorrow night. I've been busy the last two weeks.
ipse dixit
It's boy size. It's heavy and scratchy. I haven't sniffed it. I have little-no interest in the ego that is Douglas Henshall.

Boyd was trying to get Abby's pants, Sost, but they didn't seem too keen to supply us with them...

Yep, last one 'til next year.
Shack
I kind of wish I'd paid more attention to the last 15 minutes because I struggled to work out what was going on.

As far as I can tell, lots of animals got locked in a room and that woman who used to go out with Cutter that had big knockers had lots of cloned friends.

Plenty of knockabout fun to be had though, especially when Hannah started scrapping. She's always struck me as scrappy.
Raven
It was a bit of an odd ending really, and even though I was giving it my full attention I'm not exactly sure what they were getting at with all the clones.

As cliff-hangers go, I don't think it was as good as last years.

(Btw Shack, that woman - Helen - was Cutter's wife!).

I don't know why Stephen shut himself in that room. It wasn't even as if he did anything onther that get ripped apart.

I don't think they are clones. I think she has gone through various portals and brought them back befor they dies. Which is what she hinted will happen with Stephen.

Helen - not exactly a convincing "hard woman" is she. They seem to think dressing her up as a poor Mad Max extra and making her cut chunks of apples off with a big knife makes her dangerous

The only way to get the door shut and trap all the animals was from the inside! They broke the exterior switch when fighting off the raptor.

Are knockers nutritious? The raptors might not have had to eat for ages afterwards.

Interesting point on the bringing Stephen back to life though.

And the bit were Connor and Abby nearly held hands but didn't? Ooooh I nearly cried.
Raven
The bit that made me go "eh?" was Connor’s unconvincing love interest being at Stephen's funeral - why was she there?!

She obviously felt bad for lying, although how she found out about the funeral is a bit of mystery.
