James have reformed... They're back & on tour again!

I am very exited about this. I saw their (supossed) last gig ever, in wembly arena in december 2001. It was (& still is) one of the best gigs I've ever been to. .... only bettered by the thin white duke.

Surely there are more James fans on the forum. (other than myself)

I'm moderately pleased to hear this - I'm not a serious fan, but they did knock out some cracking good tunes. I shall pass this info on to a good friend of mine who is a big fan, and will be most pleased I'm sure. Cheers for the linkage Mr Jon!

Yeah Nic, ... That was their overplayed hit. ... But they've done so much better songs than that...

Ahh, yer think you're so pretty.....eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-eeeeeeeeee!!!

Yeah. Sit Down and Laid. That'll be a long concert.

What next, the Levellers? Please God, no.

When I did night shifts stocking shelves at Macro they used to play the James album with the oh sit down song on it ALL the time. I hated it at first but it really grew on me.

If Batman makes a guest appearance I may be tempted.

Tish and pish sir, they've done plenty of spine-tinglingly good stuff: Born Of Frustration, Getting Away With It (All Messed Up), Tomorrow, Say Something, Seven, We're Going To Miss You... they may not have been big hit singles, but that don't mean nothing (in my opinion). James are a bit like Crowded House, in that people probably know a lot more of their songs than they think they do.

Bring on the comeback, says I.

Ahh, memories of early 90's. Dancing to James songs in the style of dance where you don't move your feet at all. It's all in the swaying and wavy arms.

Sound is a insanely great track to do this to.

How could you all forget Come Home ?

beat me to it, the high-point of 'james'; they've never equalled it.

Imagine....Tim Booth, Bez, Barry Mooncult and the guy from The Blue Aeroplanes all dancing on stage together. It would surely be a box office smash in Theatre Land.

Shove Michael Stipe in there and we'd have a frugging festival of almost dangerous proportions.

Terry Hall would come on stage halfway thru just to calm things down a bit.

Thanks Ade... I was all ready to defend them, but it looks like you know your James.

Incidentally, my all time favourite James song, you missed of your list: Sometimes.

Ah, but it wasn't overplayed over here..... it was barely played at all.

Meanwhile, "Laid" was played till the cows came home.

Can't argue with that. I had to leave some for you though - didn't want to be too greedy. smile.gif

Well James' tour tickets went on sale on friday.
Though now, for the shepherds bush gig there's only 3rd level tickets left... Would it be worth it? ... being so high up?
... maybe I'll look for last minute tout tickets.
Jon 79
Their new album 'Hey Ma' is out on 7th April.
All you need to know is here.

I've got tickets for another one of their mini gigs in Old Street on Monday!! happy.gif
Ade
I wouldn't mind seeing a James gig actually. Got a spare ticket? biggrin.gif

soz. There were only 350 places on sale this morning. ...You could always try your luck on the door though. Tickets were only a tenner.
Ade
Ach, no worries, it was only a semi-serious hint. I haven't got any leave left anyways.
