Top 3 for sure with Bowie at 1.

If it's best song - it's a sonwriter "special" this month - why put Buckley at 1 and not Leonard Cohen?
dandan
why have 'perfect day' or anything by 'the verve'? urgh...

I share only one thing with those people & that is that I also wish he never died.

These kind of lists are bullshit anyway.

Agreed.

And I know I often say this, but why no Carole King? Women extremelhy under-represented in that list and she was a very talented writer.

Back off. Didn't you know he was a tortured soul?

America had Cobain & Buckley...we had Morrissey. Moz didn't give in...and wrote better songs. We win.

That's a point...no Smiths/Morrissey in the 10!!

Be fair though. If you were told they were doing this list, I'm dure many would have said Bohemian Rhapsody would have been in there.

Q is pretty poor. Still better than NME which has turned into Smash Hits.

Music itself isn't in great shape at the moment. Certainly the worst era I've experienced.

Good point sir.

After about 8 years of buying Q magazine every month, I just gave up wasting money and space on it - in fact I've found this place (and the tape loop) far more enlightening/rewarding.
Wife Of Rolex
I remember that John Mckie briefly had a stint as editor of Q after he effectively kicked off the slow death of Smash Hits. I don't know if he had a hand in Q's demise, though. It was when he was editor of SH that it turned into a watered down and purely bubblegum pop orientated version of its former self. Back in the 90s it covered mostly pop though it also covered other genres, but from about 2000 onwards it barely touched anything that strayed far from Westlife or The Backstreet Boys. I fondly remember the Mark Frith era, the last time it was actually was a great magazine.

For any others interested, Radiohead's new album, "In Rainbows" is out in 10 days.

You heard me, 10 FREAKIN DAYS.

Interestingly enough, you can put your own price for the download. 'It's up to you', they say. No, really.

considering what I think of radiohead, £0.01 would be massively extortionate. nice idea though.

I'm 90 per cent certain that's a hoax. Not entirely certain since they tend to do weird stuff anyway, but I'm sure the album is out in March.

I thought so too at first but now I think it's genuine.
maian
I's being reported as genuine so I assume it must be. How odd.

Anyway, Radiohead's new album can be downloaded from radiohead.com from October 10 and a physical copy is being released in March.
rabbit57i
This should go to show how much something is downloaded and how many Cds are physically bought. It will be a bit twisted statistically because of the name your own price, but I think the results will be interesting.

Hello

Just to let you know that we haven't forgotten about you...

News has reached these parts that after months of beavering away in studios from the West Country to the West Coast, and having returned from their recent stint in LA LA land, Alison and Will are in the UK putting the finishing touches to the album this week.

As yet untitled, it will be rearing its antlers early next year...

Keep logged on to the website www.goldfrapp.com for more news in the coming weeks, and perhaps a few tasters for you...

That is all for now. More news soon.

Nothing to do with her piss-poor performance at the one tour gig she's done so far then?

I never really could listen to her perform live, even from long before Rehab and Back To Black. It's only those two tracks and Valerie with Mark Ronson from the recording studio that do anything for me.
