I saw the blokes from VIDZ every other day when I lived in Glasgow. They must have lived near Byres Road. They should do a podcast anyway.

My favourite joke is now redundant - fortunatley there are many more closet cases to use instead.

It's always been my thought that it's the 'advisors' gay celebrities have rather than the public who cause them problems in their careers and personal lives.
When Gareth Thomas came out at the end of last year I was infuriated to learn Max Clifford had actually told two gay premier league footballers not to come out when they had been considering it. That's two men right there who's lives could be so much easier and help break the last sporting taboo if they felt encouraged and supported by those around them. It is ultimately those guys' business if or when they want to openingly discuss it, but for someone like Max Clifford to hold that level of influence over someone is barbaric.

There was a photo headline in The Onion recent that read "Papal Infallibility Invoked To Allow Scrabble Word", which made me chuckle.

Following on from Jeremy Dyson's Ghost Stories (i've not seen it but hope to once it goes to the West End) - some kind soul on Youtube has uploaded a whole load of the classic 70s TV adaptations of M.R. James spooky stories including
A Warning to the Curious with Peter Vaughn,
Lost Hearts and the famous
Whistle and I'll Come to You.
Another story in a similar vein is Charles Dicken's
The Signal Man starring Denholm Elliot.
More on the Christmas series here. Happy hauntings, my children ...

Yeah, everyone's been saying that since pretty much as soon as he started doing it. I was kind of hoping it was real, though, if only because as a "prank" it's hugely anticlimactic. Everyone has been in on the gag for far too long now.

It's the sign at the front of the mall in Back to The Future. The first sign says Twin Pines Mall and has a logo with two pine trees. The next photo is a picture of two actual pine tress and a note pointing out that Marty runs over one of them during his escape. The third photo is the same as the first, except now the sign says Lone Pine Mall and the logo is only one tree.

Gutted. I almost said "Is it the picture of the lone pine mall?" but I thought that was the bit that everyone knew about already. There are loads of things like that, like the fact that the ledge below the clock face has crumbled a bit in the new future where the Doc knocked some bricks off. A mate of mine could point loads of them out but that's the only one I can remember off the top of my head.
