I've heard some ace stories about Walliams. This made me laff today.

Likewise, although I've only seen 43 (which is more than I thought when I first glanced through the list). Some pretty odd placings in the list too - I really don't see how There Will Be Blood deserves 2nd place - that'll be well down the pecking order once the same list is compiled again next year.

Prisoner "remake" back on.

Sounds interesting but I don't like the idea of having the same Number Two every week. Part of the social comment of the original was that the Number Two's (arf) whilst socially higher, were less important than Number Six. It won't be the same with McKellen saying "I'll get you next time!" at the end of each episode.

I agree. As much as I like Sireena, how can he be the new Number Two every week?

Also, 'Location filming is in Namibia and Cape Town,'. No Portmeirion?

I'm a trifle confused - are they going to write six new episodes based loosely on the original, or try to compress the original 17 episodes down into six hours?

I think they'll just write six new episodes. I think if done well this could be great but even if it's shit it won't effect my love of the original.

Well, a lot of the original episodes were pretty self-contained and weren't intended to advance the plot. You could get a good series out of six of the original episodes, say: 'Arrival', 'The Chimes of Big Ben', 'The Schizoid Man', 'Checkmate', 'Hammer Into Anvil', 'Once Upon A Time' and 'Fall Out'. (Not that I expect this to be a good series.)

Could we not have had this bloody conversation yesterday? We incorrectly said that The Prisoner was filmed in Port Talbot at a pub quiz last night. It wouldn't have made much difference though I suppose, we came 5th out of 7. Boo!

How is Star Wars better than most of the films in that top 10?

How is Terminator 2 in any way better than the original Terminator?

Bigger action setpieces and a considerably larger effects budget?

I can kind of see why they have put Star Wars in at No.2, although I would have gone for Empire as it is the better film.

Terminator 2 is by far the more polished film, in pretty much every way (over Terminator), but I think the original is the better story (2 is just a variation on the same theme really).

I just have an unreasoning loathing of Terminator 2 because of Edward Furlong being so 90s it hurts to watch. And shit.

I have heard of, or recognise, most of them, but there are a few - especially towards the bottom end of the list - that I don't know.

I'm always surprised by the popularity of Superman, I understand the basic appeal of the character, and the ideals he is supposed to represent, but for someone with only one real weakness there's not a hullva a lot you can do with him. I prefer Batman and the vast array of imaginative characters aligned against him.
