Joss Stone has just sung the UK national anthem at the NFL game at Wembley.
She was booed a little upon entry.
She sung our already god-awful anthem as if she were auditioning for the X Factor, trying to get as many notes as she could into every syllable.

This is all over the BBC news today. Apparentley it happened at the beginning of the month. When it was aired there were a total of TWO complaints, and that was for the language, not the nature of the call. Andrew Sachs had made no complaint at the time, and was expecting a call from them . So why has it made the news now? BecauseDaily Mail has decided to run this story.
Of course the Mail initially laboured on the fact that they were appalled that someone could say such sordid things about someone's grandaughter. That is until today when it was discovrered that she is a glamour/fetish model. Now they are revelling in printing the pictures.
Oh, and as expected, Ross's salary got mentioned in the story.

My thoughts hereIf any of the journos writing these stories actually listened to the show they'd know that Andrew Sachs' grandaughter was a member of the Satanic Sluts and had slept with Brand in less than romantic circumstances, because they started talking about this weeks ago when David Baddiel was guest hosting.
The whole thing is fucking ridiculous. God bless the moral majority.

Some of those comments are great, nothing could have prepared me for how bad that article is though.
I think they were right to delete all the nasty, bitter comments that were based on no more than ignorant and irrational prejudige. however, the person who posted the word 'cunt' 11,000 times made a valid point.

I couldn't get past the second paragraph. This summed up my reaction to it quite well (and humorously):
QUOTE
The first time I visited New York, I stayed with the family of a friend, whose father told me the night before my flight back to London, "Don't go home thinking that, because you've seen New York, you've seen America - you haven't". He was right, too, which renders Peachy Gandalf's grandly vacuous statements about "America" all the more comic. Darling, if you're living in fucking Billyburg, then you probably haven't even seen Brooklyn, much less New York. Try getting off at the LIRR terminus on Sutphin at half-past midnight on a Saturday in December when you've forgotten that you need to change at Broadway Junction to get the A to Howard Beach - trust me, that'll change your fucking worldview with the quickness.

"Wince" in an understatement. Like many Japanese films it's the slight "oddness" that makes it extra special.

The

Silence Of The Lambs deserves a place on the list. Nice to see

Indeed, Saw can go do one. Whether or not it's good, it simply isn't scary. Audition for example, is creepy as fuck at times, but simply isn't as widely known, therefore doesn't get as high a placement, but of course movie lists are simply great because people love being pissed off at movie lists. If this were a true reflection of horror movies, then [REC] and Ju-On would get some kind fo placing, hell, even El Espinazo del Diablo is scarier than half of that list. Plus, Nosferatu should always be in the top twenty (at least) of any horror list.

I think that Parker and Stone would be the first to admit that some of their episodes are preachy, but only when it concerns an issue which they feel very strong about, such as their recent attack on The Writer's Strike and that one about Kenny being put on life support. Though I suppose that's more a case of them putting forth their opinions rather than telling everyone how to think.
