Back 2 Bedlam totally rocked! (Under rated in my opinion.......)

OK, not so much, but more rock & roll than people asume.
At least before, his 2004/2005 interviews are alot more gritty.
I hope that part of him isn't COMPLETELY dead, but it sure as hell doesn't show anymore. Most of his quotes are of "getting laid", so thats just another one on the list of "not-so-sober" things he's said. I'd like to just laugh and dismiss it, but if I have to be honest, following him around the world is number 1 on my long list of "Things I Would Do If I Had Money". So, in cleaner and more respectable terms, I'm just saying: "I would..."

Well musical taste is a very personal thing.
I don't think anyone can really say that another person has good or bad taste.

Lord knows most people would not agree with a lot of my musical tastes.

But from a completely personal perspective - I have to say that James Blunt is probably my number one most hated artist. Sorry Amy It's just my taste.

I'm not a fan of ballads at the best of times but for some reason his ballads particularly grate on my nerves.

Trust me, there's a lot better talent in the music industry, both in terms of looks and actual talent.

URGENT (OK, not-even-a-little-bit-urgent) NOTE

You would be surprised...... compared to the rest of my musical taste, and style in general, he's a total bolt from the blue. I labelled that note as urgent, just because it's true. Belive what you want, but there isn't a single genre of music or artist I can dismiss entierly. Best to see the good in people

Plus, I don't atall blame you for finding his ballads intensely irratating, the good songs are on the album. Overplaying the "crappy" ones on the radio isn't the best way to sell an album. The reason my fisrt post was so enthusiastic, is that I kind fizzled out after waiting 3 years for a new album, so it was a "shock to the system", so to speak, that it was finally here. That, and the fact I feel obliged to promote his stuff seen as his web site sent £100's worth of James Blunt merchandise for nothing (Long story that not even MYSELF is intested in anymore)
I also agree that of COURSE there's better talent out there. No offense to James, but the world would be FUCKED if there wasn't!
But you can't stop your damn feelings. If you could everyone would be in a lot less trouble. It's just a fact.

My thing is that I really only like happy music. I'm not a fan of ballads, angry music or whingy music because I feel that I deal with enough of that kind of stuff in the rest of my life and I don't need it in my music.
I like stuff I can sing along to, dance along to, bop along to. Cheery stuff.
Of course, artistically speaking, most of it's rubbish!
But I don't care.

I really don't understand how James Blunt has effected all your lives so much. I don't listen to his music, don't listen to any radio stations that play his music or watch any tv channels that play his music. I even got his name wrong just until I saw the name of the thread.

i hang out with french people and they all seem to love that song (cause it is slow and easier for them to sing along to). you should hear martin sing it... it makes me go awww. and then i laugh at him.

Well, in Australia at least, there was quite a while there where there were no radio stations which didn't play his music. Not to mention department stores, elevators, tv commercials, people in the street singing it, comedians taking the piss out of it......

It was quite hard to avoid.

It wasn't even that bad in the UK.

(And remember kids, it's always harder to dodge something when you make it your mission to avoid it. FACT)
