I am being really really bugged by my bessie US friend to watch the latest episode.
I of course curse her because I am currently watching....well I am not going to admit what I am currently watching as I hate myself for it.
Seems she really loved it though and wants me to watch so we can gossip.
She just wants to shag Faith *cough* Echo a much as me though so she likely just got her kit off

The latest episode was pretty bloody good. How did I ever doubt Whedon. Oh yeah, ithe series was pretty dull at the start.

I just seen an advert for Dollhouse coming to sci-fi soon so I will finally be able to watch it. I am assuming it needs to be given a bit of time to get going.

It really was. Given that the network's given them a second chance, they'd better sustain the momentum or it won't last. I have high hopes, though.

Have to say I am liking this show muchly. Certainly after episode 6 everything picked up big style. Loved the ending of the show and wished there was more sooner. Great to see that it's being picked up again. I get scared when any new show starts in the US that I'm loving as you know it can get cancelled in a flash.
I hope that we get to see the greater scope of the 'doll' houses. Other cities and the like. Also looking forward to seeing what other actors pop up in the next season. I have a whole bunch of pray for cameos I want to see.

I know, how good is that? I'm curious to how they would have done things so very much looking forward to it.
It's September for season 2 isn't it?

I'd like to actually keep her as a contact for future acting purposes, not give her cause for a restraining order.
But I'll think it for you if and when I meet her.

You'd better.
Well, I met Nate (her brother) on Saturday so I'm one step closer to thinking this thought for you, whitey-pops.

Over the weekend I watched the unaired pilot and the "missing" episode 13.
The pilot was interesting, but not that far from what we got in the end. No major changes from the actual series unlike the Buffy and Bionic Woman pilots for example.
Episode 13 was very surprising. Set 10 years in the future it was part origin and part preview of what to expect in possible future seasons. A very strange move on Whedon's part, very downbeat and very interesting. Plus it starred one of "The Potentials".

Felicia Day, no less!
Star of Dr Horrible and 'The Guild'. I want her in the series more!

I just watched these 2 today. Really enjoyed both, especially 13. I did a woo hoo when FD appeared.
Also liked the little girl Adair Tishler from Heroes, thought she played it very well indeed. Looking forward to season 2 so much so it was great to get a little extra Dollhouse. I like where they took the use of the technology.

Dollhouse canceledCan't say that I'm surprised, given the ratings and that it's Fox, but at least it was given a bit of a fairer shake than Firefly was.

Not quite, Fox just aren't picking up more episodes for season two.
Could end up being the same thing, but it's not an out-right cancellation at this point.
And all of this has just reminded me that I missed tonight’s episode. Arse.

Not fair.

Not surprising.
Hate to say it, but the reason this show tanked had more to do with the lead than the writing. Dushku was fine as supporting cast in Buffy, but she doesn't have the chops to carry a series by herself. I stopped watching after the end of season 1 because I got tired of the supporting cast being able to act circles around her and Tamoh. Should've given the lead to Acker.

I'm actually glad it's gone because now Joss Whedon is free to work on projects that are better (specifically ones that don't involve Eliza Dushku).

I concur with the Acker. She is da bomb and that.

I think I'm now up to date with the current run, and it really has developed into an excellent series. The plot twists and turns and developments makes me think I'll probably miss it more than Firefly.
I'd love to see if there'd be any more actors from the Whedon Universe. Recently Alexis Denisof and Summer Glau have joined. Glau is mesmerising as a sweet evil geek. Her likeness to Sigourney Weaver is sometimes uncany.

Seems they are showing 2 episodes a week now. The end of the latest (ep 10) was a great - a nice little twist with the promise of some good stuff to come.

And so it ends. The finale wasn't as "big" as I hoped for, and the finale finale (!) was a bit of a let down, but I suppose they had to rush things to get to a conclusion. A big shame because the series was really showing some promise.
I wouldn't be surprised if Whedon never develops another TV series again.

There have been some rumors that he's been talking to FX, which would be a much better fit for him I think, being that it's a cable network that handles some "interesting" programming.

I think it would have been great if they'd have produced another two season with an epitaph set in the future at the end of every season. So you'd have the storyarc and the conclusion side by side. That would have been fun. But I really think it's okay how they wrapped the thing up. It feels way more closed than Firefly.
