I would have posted this in Odds and Sods, but I suspect this could prove to be a popular topic!
Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku are re-teaming for new Fox series called Dollhouse.
The plot is centered on a top-secret team of agents programmed with different personalities, abilities and memories, depending on their mission. After each mission their memory is wiped.
Dushku will play a character called Echo, who starts to become aware of what is happening to her.
It could be on air this autumn.

Perfect timing for such news. The Sci-Fi channel has just shown the series 4 Angel eps that feature La Duckshoot. I'd forgotten (a little) just how awesome she is.

Dushku will star in the Whedon-penned series, to be produced by 20th Century Fox TV, the studio behind Buffy, its spinoff series Angel and Whedon's SF western show, Firefly.
I thought he wasn't going to deal with Fox again after Firefly?

Faith was always
better in Angel I thought. Her episodes were spectacular.
Althought the concept sounds kinda different, I trust Mr W. And even his worst work is miles better than a lot of pish on TV. So huzzah.
And let's hope he doesn't get screwed again. Fox shmox.

It's close. Tahmoh ticks both the Mal and Jayne boxes (paniche and bulk, respectively). I like Olivia too - she has immense class but would be great at lighter moments. Plus, Amy Acker has an excellent range so the multiple persona aspect to the plot sounds interesting.
My hopes are up for this one ... i'd just like more Joss really.

Yes. The pilates-class look is pretty unmistakable. And the blond Asian chick has a very long nose (could be a bad picture). That hair makes her resemble the Fiennes-Plastic-Surgery-Dog from Brass Eye.

Bad Olivia Williams, though. Swit swoo. She is gonna kick-ass.

Is anyone actually watching this yet? I know it's tricky being this side of the pond an all, but Graboid solves the ills of not having a passport, the money to buy a plane ticket or the ability to wait for new Whedon material.
I need to re-watch the first nine episodes as I think I missed a lot of plot, what with mostly being drunk whilst watching the majority of them...
I know I was pissed off I had to wait a whole day to get the next episode, but I wasn't feeling the need to run around and set up an I *heart* Dollhouse website.
I need discussion as it blows watching it alone *blinks away tears* If I have to go to Digital Spy and talk about it there I may eat, urmmmm, the stuffed giraffe which is currently sitting beside me.

I'm really disliking the show, and if it wasn't Whedon, I would have stopped watching after the first 3 episodes. There are so many problems.
First off, none of the non-Doll characters are likable, or entertaining to watch, and are annoying pricks most of the time. Which is a problem with both writing and casting. For example, the Topher character. I could see any of the nerds from Buffy being entertaining in the role, even given the crappy dialogue, but the guy they have now is just idiotic, and sometimes creepy.
Eliza Dushku is a terrible choice, because, in my opinion, she cannot act. So, a series where she plays an entirely different character each week is just painful to watch. I know Whedon likes her for some reason, but he needs to realize that she really can't pull this off.
And really the show just seems so ridiculous and not believable at all, which is saying a lot since it comes from the mastermind of a show about a fucking vampire slayer.
Needless to say, if the show get's canceled, I will not miss it. And I never thought I would say that about something Joss Whedon created.

I am just about to watch episode two again.
I agree there are problems, but I am currently enjoying it a lot more than post Doyle/pre Spike Angel. Oh how I was not a fan of that programme.
I am still utterly opinionless on whether I like it or not. I have a feeling I will end up loving Sierra aka Katya, but she has yet to really become anything yet.
I like Eliza, and honestly I don't know if she is a good actor or not. It's quite simply because she makes me want to be a lesbian. God that woman is the sex!
I dunno, my initial thoughts were it would be an amazing vehicle. A different story each week, but with a familiar thread running through which would lead us somewhere interesting and unexpected...and leave us wanting more. Well, I'm not finding the different story each week jarring, which is an accomplishment(!). Oh bollocks to it, I'm just going to eye up the pretty girls and go with the flow for now. It does however need more pretty boys. Fillian would be nice

I'm up to date so far and despite the first few episodes being rather dull, it has got a lot more interesting recently. It had a good run of about 3 or 4 episodes, but the most recent seems to have gone back to the dull formula.

Currently I have re-watched episode one and never got to kick off with ep two again. I think tonight may be the night I just sit here and watch the fucking lot.
I suspect with my current mood that still won't make me decide it I love or hate it. Orrrrrrrrr, I could just slap on that David Mitchell thing off of the radio and play shite video games. Pretty much guaranteed I won't sleep though lol.

I'm all for Fillion action. (Especially if Castle gets cancelled, which it looks like it will be. God, the man has rotten luck.) But no love for teh Penikett?! Fie, he's fab. (No, he's no Captain Tightpants, but more than an acceptible substitute!)

It's been a slow build, slower maybe than it needed to be but well worth sticking with. The little revelations in each successive episode have accumulated into something quite impressive. It's far from flawless but the most interesting stuff usually is. And I'm not holding Whedon's clearly deliberate attempt to do something tonally different to his other output against him.
