EDIT: Oh, and it was the Family of Blood story on BBC3 as a double bill. Even better than I remember.

It really was, wasn't it.

Does this mean it's Blink on Monday?

Well, mentioning you was something of an in-road for conversation, and when I told him I've still to get around to seeing you "in action" (as it were), he said, "you really should."

Gawd bless 'im.

I might watch Family of Blood now. Haven't seen it since it was on.

Yay! Thanks.

I'd almost forgotten how great the last half of the series was.

You say 'yes' but my Sky guide says different, even though that was the 'next time on Dr Who' bit at the end.

I too watched 'The Family Of Blood'. It's fantastic and super sad at the same time.

Oh bloody hells.

Radio Times has Blink on Monday at 7, followed by Utopia at 7:45.

You're right. I've just re-checked. It was showing the latest pointing at fat kids show when I looked yesterday.

Then I revert back to my previous statement of: Yay.

I think that is a safe bet!

Doctor Who Exhibition coming to Earls Court London.

I demand a mini-meet!
Raven
'Blink' nominated for a Nebula award.

I was rather surprised to see that an episode of Star Trek: New Voyages is up for the same award, as are a number of films I would have said should have been in last years awards (V for Vendetta came out in 2005!).

I agree, will be a laugh provided tickets aren't too expensive.
Raven
Alex Kingston and Colin Salmon cast for Steven Moffat's series four two parter.
Raven
The Sarah-Jane Adventures to return and this time for a whopping 24 episodes!

That's a bit more positive than a month or so back when it was sounding as though it was facing the axe!

There are also some series four Doctor Who spoilers in the above article, so don't click unless you want to know!
Raven
'Doctor Who' nominated for Epiphany Prize.

I'm guessing they're ignoring the Lesbian Grannies bit then!

Series 4 Trailer To Hit Big Screen.

Interesting, although I'm assuming that the new series probably won't start until the end of March.

ETA:

And Phil Collinson is off too.

A new trailer previewing the next series of Doctor Who is being launched in cinemas across the UK today.

The 90-second trailer is part of a deal between the BBC and Carlton Screen Advertising and will exclusively be shown before new films such as Cloverfield and Rambo at Odeon, Cineworld and Empire cinemas.

I'm going to see 'Cloverfield' at Cineword at 11pm tonight.

Exciting times...

The film will be ruined if they don't show the preview! Or perhaps later by the camera work making me barf

The new trailer is on you tube, got a link last night thanks to someone, not the greatest quality, but its clear.

You even get a glimpse of a certain someone near the end of the trailer laugh.gif

It was better at the cinema last night.

Mwah ha ha ha ha

Fifty foot Billie!

I booed Martha, it was brilliant. She looks like a terminator.

Seeing cloverfield next week so hopefully i'll see the trailer, non grainy and on a massive screen. biggrin.gif

Recent issues of two American nerd magazines highlight Doctor Who and Torchwood actresses. Geek Monthly puts the return of Billie Piper to Doctor Who at #7 in its "Son of the BIG List: Our yearly roundup of Stuff That Rules", and has an interview with Eve Myles. And Wizard lists Freema Agyeman at #16 in its list of the "Sexiest Women of TV".

Re-live all your Christmas nightmares, over again, this March 10th . . .

curtinparloe
Saw the trailer, it was OK, but I expected a little more, really. Better than the other TV trailers I've seen though.
Raven
No link, but Steve Pemberton has been cast for episodes 8 and 9 (which I think is the Moffat two-parter).

In related news, I saw a comment this week that Moffat's story is set - in part at least - in a library (I'm getting excited already!).

If it were anyone else but Moffatt, the words 'set in a library' would point towards infinte boredom.

In other Who news, classic series actor Kevin Stoney has passed away.

Read here.
Raven
Yes, I saw that. I only watched Invasion recently, he was very good.

A further update on The Sarah Jane Adventures, it looks like SFX jumped the gun in the article above, but CBBC have issued a press release today confirming a second series of twelve episodes. Rumour has it, series two and three are being filmed back-to-back hence the initial report of 24 episodes.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but just in case one ever needed proof that some things are lost in translation:

I still haven't seen an episode yet... how does it fare?
Raven
I thought they were pretty good, for a kids TV program - the stories hung together quite well, and acting was pretty good too.

Overall the consistency was better than that of Doctor Who and Torchwood as well.

I don't know what it is about Torchwood. I enjoy it, but there's something about it that just doesn't sit right.

I think I prefer Jack in the presence of The Doctor than I do in Torchwood... I'm finding it really hard to care about any of the characters... I mean, when the Doctor said goodbye to Rose, that was a real heartwrenching moment. I found myself caring about both Rose and the Doctor. Hell, even thouhg Adric was a right old pain, his death, and the reaction to it, was really sad, and the end credits over his crushed star was haunting.

However, I really can't find myself caring about the Torchwood crowd, and I don't know why....

I think you mean 'hilarious'.
Raven
I watched Survival last night, for the first time in years, and was sorely disappointed.

I remembered the story being much better, but it was lousy, from the daft puppet cat to the feeble attempt to work in the Master.

It did reminded me why I liked Sophie Aldred though - there's no way she could have passed for 16/17!

Also, The Brain of Morbius has just been passed for release on DVD - why are they going to get to Terror of the Zygons?!

Are there any different extras on this that, than what's already on the normal 5 Doctors dvd?
Crutch
For a few weeks now Doctor Who is running in German television. The German version isn't even bad. It's in fact really well translated into German, even if they made the Sonic Screwdriver into a "Überschallsschraubber" meaning "Super Sonic Screwdriver" - so you can say, that the German version is even better than the original. wink.gif

I am really pleased with it, especially the German version of Heroes was done so badly. They translated even the Japanese bits and killed the subtitles these ignorants. And the rest sounds like a mix of Bollywood and a porn-movie. But that's off topic.

Yes. Apart from being completely remastered, it has a commentary and a host of other features.

You can find out more here: The Five Doctors - 25th Anniversary Edition DVD.

He's completely run out of ideas then.

He'll be crossing over with 'Children's Ward' next.
