They've changed several things; the paint is more glossy; the windows now have a white trim; the lantern on top has changed and the old St. Johns Ambulance sticker is back again. It looks like they are trying to make it look more like the original TARDIS whilst keeping the proportions of the most recent design.

It reminds me of Davison's, actually. I like it. I wonder if this means a change of interior?

I didn't mind Donna as I wasn't a Martha fan. I agree they should have left Rose where she was, ruined what had been a good ending to her chapter. And as for giving her a fake doctor. Jeeeez. I'm sure there are some fan fiction out there with better endings than that. But that's just my opinion.

Nit-picking question, but if Donna was a human-Timelord metacrisis, and they can't happen, and Doctor Two was one as well, shouldn't he die?!

Ahhh but you forget he has gone to a magical world where love lasts forever and no one dies and everyone is happy (and plots don't make sense).
The whole thing made me a bit angry to be honest. Others seemed to think it was amazing? Each to their own I suppose.

I thought he explained that away by Donna being a Human with Timelord bits stuffed in and the second Doctor being a Timelord with Human bits stuffed in.
Raven
Jul 27 2009, 05:51 PM
I don't think they say that as such. He is definitely human, because of the one heart and won't regenerate bit, but he's also part Timelord etc.
It's probably best not too look too closely!
NiteFall
Jul 27 2009, 06:00 PM
I'm sure he says something about it being deadly to Donna because she's just a pathetic weak girly human and it's okay for the Doctor because he's a rock hard studly man Timelord.
Everlong
Jul 27 2009, 06:58 PM
I think it was because he was 'born' half timelord, whereas she absorbed a timelord mind, which supposedly will fry a human brain.

Thank youI find that I'm not the only one who feels this way. She wasn't too bad in Eccleston's time but I still wasn't that keen on her. However, I felt that RTD was trying to almost turn Dr Who into the Rose Tyler show with the way she had to be continually brought back, and will be again. You'd think she was head and shoulders above all other companions. In my opinion both Romanas, Dr Liz Shaw, Leela, etc were far superior companions to Rose.

Subject: New Tardis interior
Just been posted on Roobarbs could be false could be true:
The set is on 2 levels, joined by a spiral staircase, but is not as big as I'd thought. It's apparently finished though sections of it seem to be missing at present. We saw the console room, a lab area, a sort of sitting room area, a fairly long section of corridor leading nowhere and numerous other little nooks and crannies. The console room reminds me of a new and shiny version of the old one, except the roundels are very simple and basic looking, simply spherical dents in the walls.
These new style roundels are featured throughout the whole set, though not on every wall. Back to the console room - mainly golds and silvers and the coral theme has been replaced with a smooth marble like finish. Also the room is not circular, it's a kind of hexagon-joined-to-a-square shape, the hexagon bit containing the console, which to me looked like the same console they've used throughout the series except with new buttons and blinky lights, though apparently it's entirely new. Your beloved hatstand was still there but no sign of the interior doors, also there was no ceiling to the set - could be that these bits are meant to be there but were missing from the set for some reason I suppose.
Apparently the whole set has been designed in a modular way, so things can be moved and double as other parts of the ship. The roundels are different colours in each area, gold for the console room, silver/grey/blue in the lab, brown in the sitting room. The roundels can be removed/swapped out or even turned around completely to be convex rather than concave, in order to become a different area.
If true. Of course I’d have to see it to have a final judgement. But I do like the sound of the ‘other areas’ and the modular nature. I did want an updated version of the original console room – so golds, silvers and marble doesn’t immediately sound good to me – but the entire concept could (or should!) end up being better than what is the RTD version of the interior. Mainly I wanted to see more of the interior than just the console run, so if true we could at least be getting that. I don’t want a story set in the Tardis, but at least some of one in there (ala Davison era or Invasion of Time) would be nice.

Ohh it's all change isn't it. I want and hope that it is all going to be well and good. I know a few folks will be hating the changes. Seeing the photos of the filming has made me a little sad at the thought of losing Tennant though. I did think he rocked it.
