River Song is back!

That's quite unexpected, thought that would be an off-screen thing.

Is it me or have they changed the colour of the Tardis to a lighter blue that more resembles the Tardis of Pertwee?
Baz
Double Post.

Some more pictures here - http://www.holymoly.com/celebrity-news/mat...921/page-1.html

And yes they have changed the colour of the Tardis
Raven
They've changed several things; the paint is more glossy; the windows now have a white trim; the lantern on top has changed and the old St. Johns Ambulance sticker is back again. It looks like they are trying to make it look more like the original TARDIS whilst keeping the proportions of the most recent design.

It reminds me of Davison's, actually. I like it. I wonder if this means a change of interior?
Raven
The rumours say yes.

Good. I always felt the 'coral' version lost something after they overlit it.

Them and Peewee...

Haha. Peewee. Smith reminds me of someone - dunno who (lolz). A teacher from Dead Poet's Society perhaps.

The ginger lass is pretty. Keep her away from those Pre-Raphaelites. They'd have her for tea.
PrincessKate
New Doctor Who looks like a sexy corpse.
Big Skeleton from Funny Bones made flesh, if you will.

I can see that. The jawbone especially. Not sure if I fancy him.

I have never had a sexual fantasy about Big Skeleton.

Not even in his badass pimp hat.
NiteFall
Lewis probably has though.

He exceeds us all regularly.

I'd make a remark about bones/boning/boners but I can't be bothered thinking of one. Best to invent your own.

Bit of Doctor Who goodness from Comic-Con

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/a167392/liv...-comic-con.html

Apparently there was a trailer for the christmas episodes..

Showing Wilf, Donna, and John Simm with blonde Hair under a hood, and the voice-over by Timothy Dalton!
Everlong
And here's a trailer, won't be surprised if it's removed sharpish!

I feel like that about Rose.
Raven
I think they are both great, but they shouldn't have bought Rose back for what was little more than a cameo.
wampa1
They shouldn't have brought Rose back at all.

Actually, scratch that. It would've been cool if she was only in Turn Left, with only Donna meeting her.
Astrid
Christmas Special looks good.
I didn't mind Donna as I wasn't a Martha fan. I agree they should have left Rose where she was, ruined what had been a good ending to her chapter. And as for giving her a fake doctor. Jeeeez. I'm sure there are some fan fiction out there with better endings than that. But that's just my opinion.

Nit-picking question, but if Donna was a human-Timelord metacrisis, and they can't happen, and Doctor Two was one as well, shouldn't he die?!

Ahhh but you forget he has gone to a magical world where love lasts forever and no one dies and everyone is happy (and plots don't make sense).
The whole thing made me a bit angry to be honest. Others seemed to think it was amazing? Each to their own I suppose.

The bit about a man flying around space/time in a policebox gets me everytime.

But - even so, they keep contradicting their own rules. That's not fair.

I thought he explained that away by Donna being a Human with Timelord bits stuffed in and the second Doctor being a Timelord with Human bits stuffed in.
Raven
I don't think they say that as such. He is definitely human, because of the one heart and won't regenerate bit, but he's also part Timelord etc.

It's probably best not too look too closely!
NiteFall
I'm sure he says something about it being deadly to Donna because she's just a pathetic weak girly human and it's okay for the Doctor because he's a rock hard studly man Timelord.
Everlong
I think it was because he was 'born' half timelord, whereas she absorbed a timelord mind, which supposedly will fry a human brain.

Thank you

I find that I'm not the only one who feels this way. She wasn't too bad in Eccleston's time but I still wasn't that keen on her. However, I felt that RTD was trying to almost turn Dr Who into the Rose Tyler show with the way she had to be continually brought back, and will be again. You'd think she was head and shoulders above all other companions. In my opinion both Romanas, Dr Liz Shaw, Leela, etc were far superior companions to Rose.
Astrid
Breaking your own rules spoils it at times for me.
I think you're right Raven, best not to look.

I loved Sally Sparrow. Wished she had hopped on the Tardis.

This has been doing the rounds for an age, but some of you may not have seen it.

Subject: New Tardis interior

Just been posted on Roobarbs could be false could be true:

The set is on 2 levels, joined by a spiral staircase, but is not as big as I'd thought. It's apparently finished though sections of it seem to be missing at present. We saw the console room, a lab area, a sort of sitting room area, a fairly long section of corridor leading nowhere and numerous other little nooks and crannies. The console room reminds me of a new and shiny version of the old one, except the roundels are very simple and basic looking, simply spherical dents in the walls.

These new style roundels are featured throughout the whole set, though not on every wall. Back to the console room - mainly golds and silvers and the coral theme has been replaced with a smooth marble like finish. Also the room is not circular, it's a kind of hexagon-joined-to-a-square shape, the hexagon bit containing the console, which to me looked like the same console they've used throughout the series except with new buttons and blinky lights, though apparently it's entirely new. Your beloved hatstand was still there but no sign of the interior doors, also there was no ceiling to the set - could be that these bits are meant to be there but were missing from the set for some reason I suppose.

Apparently the whole set has been designed in a modular way, so things can be moved and double as other parts of the ship. The roundels are different colours in each area, gold for the console room, silver/grey/blue in the lab, brown in the sitting room. The roundels can be removed/swapped out or even turned around completely to be convex rather than concave, in order to become a different area.

If true. Of course I’d have to see it to have a final judgement. But I do like the sound of the ‘other areas’ and the modular nature. I did want an updated version of the original console room – so golds, silvers and marble doesn’t immediately sound good to me – but the entire concept could (or should!) end up being better than what is the RTD version of the interior. Mainly I wanted to see more of the interior than just the console run, so if true we could at least be getting that. I don’t want a story set in the Tardis, but at least some of one in there (ala Davison era or Invasion of Time) would be nice.

Sounds very interesting! Good to see that we'll see more of the TARDIS.
Raven
The Sun has reported that Richard Curtis, of Four Weddings and a Funeral fame, has been asked to write an episode for Matt Smith's first season.
Starscream`s Ghost
He also wrote Blackadder, so, you never know. It might be good.

I bet Rowan Atkinson's in it, though.
gulfcoast_highwayman
It'd be wonderful if they could set it during Blackadder II and have Queenie popping up.
curtinparloe
Don't let him direct it, it'll be three hours too long...
Raven
Pictures of the Doctor in The Sarah Janes Adventures (due next month). Not very spoilery themselves, but the text gives a bit more away.

Is that anything spoilery, Glenn?
Starscream`s Ghost
Only if you've never seen Genesis of the Daleks.
Everlong
Looks like they're currently filming episode 1, Considering The costume matt is wearing. Have to say, it's a bit weird seeing someone else wearing Tennant's costume..

Possibly Spoilery Link.
Raven
They are revealing the new series logo tomorrow morning at 8.00am.
Raven
New logo for 2010:

Not sure about the TARDIS shaped DW, but the actual "Doctor Who" isn't entirely dissimilar to some previous logos.
blackcherry
There's something quite camp and fabulous about that logo. I approve.
Everlong
It's a bit old school, with the little doctor and big who and they way they've positioned the words. I like.
Kick in the Head
I like it. The DW is a bit naff, but the actual text is very reminiscient of past logos. I never liked the previous (current) one anyway.
Starscream`s Ghost
Yes to the 'Doctor Who' lettering, no to the 'DW' Tardis. That renders it nearly as bad as the McCoy era logo.
Astrid
Ohh it's all change isn't it. I want and hope that it is all going to be well and good. I know a few folks will be hating the changes. Seeing the photos of the filming has made me a little sad at the thought of losing Tennant though. I did think he rocked it.
