Radio Free Skaro is a podcast, they've done their own commentary on the episode, it's not on any DVD.

Looking round the Radio Free Skaro website I find This.

A press release about Series 5, I'm slightly more excited now... Plus apparently episode 1 lasts 60 minutes.

I second that HA!

A brilliant likeness of Billie.

New series trailer to air this Saturday!

Also contains a link to some new promo images.

What's the reckoning on it starting on two weeks?!
Starscream`s Ghost
I hope so!
Raven
They've now confirmed an air date in April.

Nice, liking the picture. Looking forward to the new trailer.

Bahh, was hoping for March but then I think DW has always started around easter.
Raven
I bet it starts on the 10th . . .

Though with it being an hour long special, it could be Easter Saturday.

If it's either of those It'll be Sky+, Easter Saturday is my sister's engagement party, and 10th is London Meet of course.

Though I watched most of series 4 through Sky+ or iplayer, as I was either working or down the pub.
Everlong
Slightly spoilery script excerpt via here..

Spoilery in that it seems Amy is engaged and her Fiance becomes a (maybe temporary) companion....
Everlong
The new series begins at Easter, according to the new trailer. April 3rd it is then!

I won't see it until the next day though, my sister's engagement party is that night.
Raven
Yep, Easter it is.

I must admit to being a tad underwhelmed by that trailer; bits on the grass, good. Bits where someone had been smoking grass, not good.

And who on Earth though the incredibly naff alien head at the end was a good idea?!
Everlong
Yeah, was a bit weird.

I think all that stuff in the vortex thing + that Alien head was showing off a bit, as it's done in 3D for Imax, it's being shown before something (Alice in Wonderland I think).
Raven
Series 6 has been commissioned! (No great surprise, given that the names of several writers have already made it onto the net!).

Filming starts in June.

And three more episode titles from series five:

4. The Time of Angels
5. Flesh and Stone
6. Vampires in Venice
PrincessKate
Is no. 4 quite telling?
Wife Of Rolex
I'm going to get in early.

The 12th Doctor...JJ Feild.

Or Rafe Spall.

I like the episode 5 name.

And yay to series 6 being commissioned! Who apart from Gaiman has been confirmed to write for it?
PrincessKate
JJ Feild?
Really?

Can't see it meself. I'm still backing Paterson Joseph, even though it ain't going to happen.

Matthew Graham has apparently been given the keys to a two-parter.

Yes, that is Matthew Graham of Fear Her fame, but he also wrote for Life on Mars so hopefully his second outing will be a lot better!
Raven
The Sarah-Jane Adventures gets renewed for a further two series.

Well deserved in my opinion!

Is this...good?

Wouldn't it be better to just be itself?

As long as they just stop with a pinch of each, that's fine.
Starscream`s Ghost
I think it's a case of a TV exec not knowing what the fuck he's talking about.

I'm confused.
Are they already talking about shitcanning Smith?

No, they're trying to compare him to Edward Cullen, so that bedwetting moronic tweenies will watch the show now that Tennant's not going to be on it anymore.

Ah.

I still think he looks more like Eric Stoltz in Mask, but that's just me.
From what I've seen of the preview his style looks like it'll be much closer to Eccleston or Baker than Tennant.
Starscream`s Ghost
I'd go as far to say there's a little bit of Troughton in there too.

Or someone's interview being quoted out of context . . .
Starscream`s Ghost
If they hadn't actually mentioned Twilight and Potter, I'd agree.
Raven
I think you're over-reacting, they're not talking about incorporating elements of Twilight and Harry Potter into Doctor Who, that's the inflection put on it by the person who wrote the article.

QUOTE
"We wanted to give the look of the series a slightly more storybook, fairy-tale feel - within reason."

He added: "It wasn't about suddenly becoming Tim Burton, but it was finding a pinch of that, a pinch of Twilight, a pinch of Harry Potter - but it's still absolutely, slap-bang, mainstream Doctor Who.

All Wenger seems to be saying is that they want a bit of a fairy tale feel to the series, which given Moffat's stories so far isn't a huge leap.
Everlong
The music in the library 2-parter sounded a bit Harry Potter-ish.

As for previous Doctors in him, he's a bit Troughton + Davison to me, but that's just judging by small previews.

I'm not saying that Moffatt's making them like Twilight and Potter, though, check my posts. I'm saying that the exec is putting that spin on them.

(Editing the quote of my post, where I accidently referenced Piers Morgan and not Piers Wenger!).

But he's not!

Wenger mentioned some current, popular fairy tales when saying they are trying to give the new series a fairy-tale feel, he's not saying they are trying to make the show like the films he referenced!
Raven
Some interesting, and moderately spoilery pictures from current filming.

Never thought I'd see that in Doctor Who!
Igmeister
Pretty interesting interview with Matt Smith in todays Guardian magazine.
Everlong

I'd read the interview this morning (that igmeister posted) that he was going to be a footballer but took up acting after an injury. I hope the Doctor's shirt Number is 11.

Is that James Corden in the pics? ph34r.gif

And that last pic is funny, to me anyway.

Doctor Who: The Tour!

QUOTE
"This is a great opportunity for the new Doctor and his companion to interface directly with the people who matter most to Doctor Who: the fans," said executive producer Piers Wenger.

Interface with the fans?

Interface?

What happened to just saying, "Hello"?

I saw these photos in the paper last week. I was under the impression it was for a Sport Relief sketch rather than Doctor Who. huh.gif

New TARDIS described

Sounds Interesting..

It must be three times the size of Tennant’s, on multiple levels with staircases in between. Less grubby than its predecessor, with a transparent plastic floor on the main level, its walls are resplendent with polished copper and its central column features a blown glass decoration that could be straight from Tales of the Unexpected. There are old car seats and downstairs – downstairs! – a swing. With a nod to Paul McGann’s Tardis, the central column features an old TV screen on an extendable trellis. It also has a 1980s-style computer keyboard, and a His-Master’s-Voice style trumpet speaker.
Raven
^ Not reading that, I want to be surprised!
Everlong
Was tempted not to read it but I'm sure it'll be different to what I imagined from that description.

One not too spoilery thing I like from the description is that it's estimated to be 3 times the size of The RTD TARDIS.
Everlong
Nice vid!

And a pic on there made me realise Donna actually looked like she was regenerating when she was cornered by the Masters. Never really noticed that before.

Cheers.

Yeah, that scene was why I thought the woman was a future regeneration of Donna. I thought the energy exploding out triggered her to physically become a Timelord, not just her mind, and that's what The Doctor was protecting her from. But then it was said it was his mother so it just became a plot cop out from RTD. It completely blows the end of series 4. Like Rose returning after her exit at the end of series 2. Now you can't help but watch those last episodes with the knowledge that it's not the ending it was meant to be. Throws the emotional impact out the window and renders it void. If there's one thing I'm definitely critical of RTD about, it's that he pissed on his own work.

Steady on WoR, Mr Moffet can more than account for that with his abilities - I'm thinking that we're gonna see everything wrapped up from the crappy RTD storyline and that it'll all fit back in.

He's a proper Whovian and make no mistakes!

I watched the BBC Three repeat of Forest of the Dead last night, and the voice over from River Song is what makes me excited about the new series - if there is more of that in the new series; epic, heroic Doctor, I think it's going to be great!

Indeed. She spoke of her doctor a lot throughout that 2 parter, basically describing him as heroic and bold etc, and that "Armies would turn and run from him", and I really hope she was referring to Smith's Doctor. I'd love it if he opens the TARDIS doors by clicking his fingers, like she described and Tennant actually did in that episode.

The more I think about this new series (just over 2 weeks to go, eeeeee!), the more I'm looking forward to it, and think Smith is going to be amazing.

I've no doubts about that. I'm sure series 5 under Moffat will be be fantastic.

It's just a part of me thinks that if it was imperitive Donna shouldn't remember her adventures with The Doctor because her head would explode and she'd die, that when she does start to remember her adventures with The Doctor then her head should actually explode and she should actually die. Not just faint. Donna's story was perfectly encapsulated in series 4. Now it's not.

Losing Rose to the parallel universe and never seeing each other again was the perfect tragic ending. Then she came back with a toothy new accent and got herself a duplicate David Tennant to splosh with. Wiped the impact of the end of series 2 clean off the screen. I watch it now and think, 'Yeah, but that's not how it really ends, is it?'

An ending, should be an ending.

The end.

Apart from when Tennant comes back for a special multi-Doctor story for the 40th Anniversary in 2013. Probably.
