Oh! And I'm really hoping Amy not knowing the Daleks means Moffat's found some way to undo the stupid 'everybody knows aliens exist now' thing. I hated that.

Couldn't agree more.

I've just watched this again on iPlayer, and I like it even more now. And I'm already sick of people bitching about the new Dalek design. I fupping love it, myself.

I enjoyed it, I still like Matt Smith and Karen Gillan - but she risks crossing the line to annoying me if she doesn't stop doing that weird, glaring, starey eye thing every two seconds.
Baz
I enjoyed it and I loved the Dalek propaganda poster, which you can download of the Beeb website smile.gif

This made me chuckle though.

Ade
Heehee.

And hahahaha. Dalek lumps.
NiteFall
See, if Davies were still in charge I'd be scared that the whole cracks in space thing would finish up as being "look! Cracks! In space and time! Into another universe! Meaning we can bring Rose back! Again!" but I have faith in Moffat to not do anything quite that pants on head retarded.
Sostie
Maybe it was high expectations, but I thought this week's episode was the weakest so far. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good watch. Loving the new Doctor and Amy (is she going to succeed where the Doc fails every week?)

A crack in every episode now. It's a bit in your face, not as subtle as Bad Wolf. Instead of "oooh, it's a crack" it's becoming "meh! A crack".

I have to say I really like the United Daleks of Benetton. They seem a lot more imposing and threatening, rather than being loomed over by anyone of average height.

iDalek

haha - I was thinking they were like Renault Clios in colour and movement.

Not too bad this one. I'm a big Gatissite so I am inclined to his episodes but also, I really don't care for daleks. They are such clumsy, whiny twats. Not Mark's best but still okay. Matt's righteous anger also coming through - i like angry Matt.

She does do that a lot. It appears to be her 'penny drops' face. I also find it funny that she wanders around in a mini-skirt during the 1940s without nobody bothering. Still - realism is not on the agenda. smile.gif
Shack
Were the new taller Daleks simply not just part of the 2012 Olympic bid? They had a rings look about them.

Having been off forum for a while, my thoughts on Mr Doctor are that I like him very much, I thought the Space Whale one was brilliant and the other two have just been ok so far.

That said, I'm actually watching the series all properly, which hasn't happened before so that's grand. It was also good to see the episode that Mark Gatiss talked about when I saw him discussing horror films while back in Nottingham.
Everlong
So Doctor, you and Rose?

Someone posted that on facebook earlier, bit of a nothing article really.

Warning: It is a Daily Mail article too.
Serafina_Pekkala
Matt Smith appears some kind of rectangular-headed Casanova. All the best to the lad, I say. At least Daisy Lowe is an improvement on Tennant's Tesco Values Buffy girlfriend. Only just mind.

I wonder if Colin Baker got all this action?

*does sick*
PrincessKate
The pretty girls need to stop hogging the funny looking boys so normal ones can get a look in. Cuh.

It'd be hilarious if she walked through the crack, clocked the new Doctor and got speared to death by a man in a pith helmet before she could open her mouth to speak, though.

I hope not, I'm already a bit tired of 'Pond saves the day' endings.

I get your meaning. We need to try new approaches - plus, although spunky and full of courage, Amy isn't that bright and does some foolish shit. She will need saving I expect. Girls in mini-skirts need to be saved at least once a season. Expect the Cybermen to tie her to the train tracks or something.

I saw the Confidential. Mark Gatiss in a 3 piece suit with fob-watch - how dapper. Also Stephen Moffatt talks like Tennant and has very suspicious white-rimmed black hair. Like a pint of Guinness.
Zoe
I loved Amy saving the day (girl power)!

Annoyed Churchill and the Doc got all the credit (typical).
Serafina_Pekkala
And Churchill was never that fat.

She can't do it every week though. She'll make the Doctor look like a spaz and they'll have to rename the show Pond.
Zoe
I would watch Pond.

Sarah Jane got her own spin-off. And Captain Jack.

I thought that they were more of a team this week, rather than it being an "Amy saves the day" episode.

Indeed, as was made abundantly clear by all the shots of him in Confidential.

They should continue with Amy saving the day and the men taking all the credit and rename the show 'Bloody Typical'.
PrincessKate
Burn.

Exactly! I found that rather irritating. Ian McNeice is okay but he looks like Peter Kay's alien at times.

Katy Brand will pinch this and make it unfunny.
Everlong
As much as they liked Tennant's doctor, they made him to be some messiah. The Doctor shouldn't be flawless, as amazing as he is.

Amy saving the day is good. But it'd be silly if it always happening. Doctor Who?

The Doctor needs to wear the trousers at some point. 'Cos Amy doesn't wear trousers at all (yum) and is winning 2-1.

This doesn't mean the Doctor should wear short skirts in order to be awesome though. Eep.
Everlong
Sorry for the double post..

Russell T Davies WILL write for The Eleventh Doctor

BUT! It's for Sarah Jane Adventures, for an episode that will also include Jo Grant!

No mention of Amy though, I hope they don't get rid of a companion after 1 season, Yet again!
Shack
I wonder if Pond could parallel park the Tardis...?

I don't mind who saves the day so long as someone bloody does, even if means playing rock paper scissors with the angels on Saturday.

Supposedly they're made of some variation of rock, maybe The Doc and Amy should pick up a ream of A4 on the way!

I'll get my coat...

People here at work were just talking about Smith and how after a few episodes he's convinced people he's a good doctor.

So, being bored and with time to kill, I thought I'd try and find people's reactions on here, to when Smith was cast (found it nearly straight away, huzzah).

A lot of people were pissed off!

A few were happy, a few including me were cautiously optimistic, and the rest were raging.

Glad he's impressed a lot of people now!
maian
I was, as far as I can remember, always in his corner. I'd seen him in a few things and, despite him not being much of a star in any of them, he impressed me enough that I thought that he'd do a good job.
Everlong
Yeah when he was announced i'd only recognised him from Party Animals and The Ruby in the Smoke (I'm not entirely sure I knew what his name was back then ha).

I thought he was good, so was only cautiously optimistic. Of course Eleventh Hour pushed that up to "pretty much in awe".
Igmeister
Really enjoyed this weeks, best Dalek episode since... well 'Dalek'. The new theme tune is growing on me too, I've gone from complete revulsion on first hearing to quite liking it.

He's a good doctor, but I still think he looks like a giant match.

He looks like an Easter island statue.
Henry Krinkle
He looks like the top two thirds of a human femur bone.

I really enjoyed the Dalek episode too, better than last week's anyway.

I'm still unsure about the theme tune. Its rhythm makes it sound more like The Doctor is riding on a horse or a train, rather than in a Tardis.

Either way it's Doctor Wooah! or Doctor Woo-Woooo! You be the judge.

Matt doing an impression of the Tardis noise made me chuckle.

Bloody brilliant episode. Really looking forward to next weeks.

Aye, the handbrake joke was a good 'un!

I don't think the BBC's shiny new idents are going to go over well with the fans.

Quote from Charlie Brooker:

QUOTE
Why don't the BBC just wipe shit all over the screen during the final scene of Dr. Who next week?
Everlong
I actually LOL'd at Matt doing the TARDIS noise.

What a great episode. Got to say it felt a lot like an old-school episode. Where it's not all flashy (well of course apart from pre-credits scene) and suspenseful.

Genuine creepiness with the Angels using Bob's voice. Reminds me of the Shadow things using the spacesuits to talk in 'Silence in the Library'

I like River Song more this time round too.

EDIT: Yeah, I thought that little ad was a bit silly. Didn't distract me from Mr Smith being epic though
monkeyman
I don't know what you guys are talking about? Simon Pegg mentions tje climax being ruined by the BBC too but i've gone back and looked and don't know what he means?
Everlong
You're in Scotland aren't you? Apparently Scotland didn't get the little ad.

Basically when the doc is doing his "There's one thing you don't put in a trap" speech, a cartoon of graham Norton popped up on the screen right in front of Matt's face and all, all to advertise a crappy show that people would have seen 2 minutes later.
curtinparloe
Hooray for missing the beginning and deciding to watch the whole thing on iplayer an hour later!!

Christ, that's terrible. Was such an awesome line as well.
Zoe
There's no need for spoiler tags for anything that's already aired in the UK.

I enjoyed this week's, but a lot is going to hang on next week's conclusion. Amy was ace again, if she's not careful she'll replace Billie as my hero.

What was with The Streets video at the start?
