Two stories involving clones in a row. They could've thought that through slightly better.
It was a decent episode on Saturday, but it could've been a bit stronger and maybe should've come a bit later in the series.

Nah, you leave the latter half of the series for the better episodes, its a formula thats worked so far on Who

Raven
May 13 2008, 04:34 PM
If he is leaving, this could be his last chance for a big swan-song, and I think this series may have been structured around that.
It doesn't necessarily follow that what Davis does will be bad, but the end of the last series, Voyage of the Damned and the opener of this series have me being sceptical that the end of this series will be any good.
We'll just have to wait and see I guess, and I hopefully I'll end up eating my words!

Hmmm. Doctor and Donna go back to (around) 33AD, where the Doctor gets grassed up to the Romans by Rose Tyler who happens to have travelled there from the parallel universe she got left in.
Her doing this finally lets RTD get to have the Doctor as the sacrifice on the cross, fulfilling all his earlier attempts to portray the Doctor as the ultimate Messiah. Sadly, RTD drowns in a pool of his own fanwank.
Could happen.

Ok, it couldn't, but I will be very surprised if he doesn't attempt to have the Doctor in some sort of Messianic light, with 'magic' or 'will of the people' as the cop-out. That's why Last of the Time Lords was cack for me, even GollumDoc wasn't that bad, but everyone saying they believe in fairies...sorry, the Doctor, was pushing it for me.

Sorry, bad attempt at a joke - It's a very common misconception that AD means 'after death' instead of 'Anno Domani' (year of our Lord). That's what the <eg> was for, and since Doctor Who is known for not always taken itself too seriously..
And I think it would actually be 1AD since the Gregorian calendar doesn't have a zero.. But I could be totally off on that one.

Oh right. Though, I've never heard anyone say AD stood for 'after death'.
In Doctor Who terms, though, it could stand for 'after Davies'.

Maybe it's just a North American thing? A lot of the people I've spoken to (not that I have daily conversations about it) have thought since BC meant 'before Christ', AD meant 'after death'.
As for Doctor Who terms.. I'm not looking forward to the time when it stands for 'after David' :/

Far more interesting was that following this story about breaching copyright was a story about Pete Doherty's return to the stage last night complete with footage taken on someone's phone at the show. Doesn't that breach copyright?

No, because you have to be famous for something other than being a waste of space to have a copyright.

The unnamed 12th Episode is apparently called
War on Skaro as lots of memorabilia/toys with that name have appeared for preorder on some websites. Those scamps at Digital Spy have posted some fake reviews of the toys to wind up the hardcore Who fanboys. Pretty funny IMO!
