Edward Smith was the captain of the Titanic, and he had a big ole bushy white beard (see below!).

Remember, this is Doctor Who, historical accuracy doesn't really feature!
Yeah, Captain John Smith was the fat middle aged dude who screwed that 12 year old native american girl.
Weird that they made a Disney film about it...

Your signature has just taken on a whole new, and sinister, aspect . . .
It's what they said to him when he got back on the boat.
They weren't big on correct ethnic terminology in the 16th Century

Pocahontas was the Native American girl, if that helps?
My bad, I was being deliberately obtuse for comic effect.
Raven

And some historical accounts claim John Smith sounded like Mel Gibson.
I like it when Pocahontas has to choose between Colin Farrell and Christian Bale. Damn those short, fat, middle aged explorers were unexpectedly hot.

I have to confess I really don't know the story of Pocahontas at all.
Oh and wasn't John Smith the guy who invented mormons?
No, wait, that was Joseph Smith wasn't it?
It's all too confusing.

Last night, after watching the last 15 minutes of the 'Shakespeare Code', me and Alyssa were wondering how such shoddy scripts got to screen when there must be thousands of young and established SF and fantasy writers who would love to write for Doctor Who.
On that note,
would Pullman write for Doctor Who?

I've recently been tempted to get the third series box set, which is on Tesco.com for £35 at the moment, but as I already have Human Nature, The Family of Blood and Blink on DVD, I just can't see a reason for doing so.
Given how mediocre (Gridlock, The Shakespeare Code) and downright poor (Dalek's in Manhattan and the Last of the Timelords) the other episodes were, and the fact that BBC3 repeats them every few months, I just can't justify spending that amount of money on them.
I'd rather get Blake's 7 volume one for £25 in HMV instead!

I've been about a metre away from her, and I have to say her teeny tiny flesh was terrifying. Her wrists were roughly half the size of a normal lady. She was like a tiny little doll, wearing a death mask. I swear, her features do not move.

And she came into the room with someone holding a ski jacket over her head. At the time I thought it was a bit prima donna of her, but then they took it off and I realised the person holding it was just doing us all a public service.
I should qualify, she's not ugly at all, very pretty in fact. She's just freakishly small and looks like she's made of wax. It's fairly terrifying close up.

A scary new monster has been revealed for Doctor Who’s season 4 finale!
QUOTE
According to show insiders, the season 4 finale of Doctor Who will feature the most terrifying monster yet. Writer and Producer Russell T. Davis has been quoted in The Sun as saying "We're very excited about this, this new monster is really scary, we can't wait to see people's reactions". Executive Producer Phil Collinson has commented that initially there were concerns about the suitability of the monster for a family audience, "The first test shots really put the wind up some of the production staff, but the Mill have put in an extraordinary effort and we now have something that is simply fantastic". Doctor Who returns to BBC1 in the spring.
Thanks to the wonder of the internet, some pictures have been leaked of the monster that is apparently being called The Sore (scroll down to see them!).
