There is now only one way to say the phrase "Hi doggy!"

That line absolutely slayed me.

Fiennes, Firth, Fassbender and Oldman join cast of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy

Wow, this film has an awful lot going for it. Oldman as Smiley is a very interesting choice.

Nicholas Hoult has been cast as Beast in the X-Men prequel 'First Class'

I'm not so sure about this. I can't see Hoult in that type of action scene!

Crikey. A royal flush of British actors there. Will Oldman beat Guinness as Smiley? I dunno but I am a big fan of Le Carre and Gary needs something good to get his teeth into. Will be good to see what happens. Also - the script is by the man who write Frost/Nixon and the director is Tomas 'Let the Right One In" Alfredson.

I would only enjoy this more if Jason Isaacs turns up in a blonde wig.
Everlong
Michael Fassbender's in it as a young Magneto too. I read a rumour that James McAvoy is Professor X

I might be the only one, but quite looking forward to seeing what Hardy can do with that. Though to me Mad Max sits in the nostalgia category. Could be alright.

EDIT: Missed this on last page..

Trailer for "Howl" - James Franco as Allen Ginsberg, with Jon Hamm and David Straitharn squaring up against each other as rival lawyers.

Trailer for "The Social Network" - Not enough dialogue to tell if it's as beautifully Sorkin-esque as I hope it will be, but it seems pretty compelling.

Hhhhhhhawwesome. The young Bridges CGI looks impressive and disturbing all at once.

I really like the way the visuals look almost the same, even with better CG technology. You know what I mean? The retro style of Tron still works today. It's just cool.
logger
Zach Snyder's Sucker Punch

Judging solely on what I've seen in the trailer this is either going to be the best film ever!!! or really self conscious style over substance. Guess we'll find out next year.
monkeyman
It looks awesome. Probably another style over substance film, but sometimes that's all I want, to be mindlessly entertained

Viggo would be better but he wouldn't touch this. I hear they want Emily Browning as Lisbeth or some other starlet. A not-that-thrilling thriller without the wonderful Swedish actors who are the best thing about the original svenska movie .

I guess we put this in the box marked - "pointless fucking remakes". Perhaps they will move it to Minnesota or something. I would actually prefer it than British actors pretending in Sweden.

The ladies of Sucker Punch

Also, Monsters trailer It kind of looks like cheesy fun but the critics' quotes in there seem impressive.

Looks like another mindless style over substance type film....and I'm really looking forward to it. Looks like awesome fun.

Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of At The Mountains of Madness finally gets off the ground, maybe

I really hope this finally gets made. It's pretty much the perfect film for del Toro, and Cameron's clout should help a lot in getting the financing together. I won't be seeing it in 3D, though.

He is much better than Daniel. And he has a nice big nose.
Serafina_Pekkala
And seeing Emily Browning at the Comic Con looking weird with short hair - she could make a good Lisbeth Salander actually.

Sucker Punch looks great. Although I like Zach Snyder lots.

Total Film have given The Expendables 2 out of 5 stars. Oh dear. Still, one star more than Last Airbender. Ouch!

I saw all three as a 'triple bill' thourghout the night at the ABC in Leeds in 1990. Then I went home, had a shower and got changed, and headed off to that London to see Madonna's Blond Ambition show.

I have never been as thouroughly knackered as I was at the end of Madge's performance. I nodded off on the coach home, and it was like being under anasthetic, when you aren't aware of time passing. One minute I was awake and resting my head on the window, next thing I knew, I'm being woken up in Leeds.
Outatime
They showed a triple bill at the Hyde Park Picturehouse when I was at Leeds but I didn't have anyone to go with.

I watched all three on dvd a couple of months ago.

Boo, no re-release in the US!

However, I did watch it on a huge screen in Greenwich Park one summer as part of their outdoor screenings series - it was hella fun. Picnic, wine, and 300 people yelling 'Damn....I'm late for school!' and cheering when George punched Biff. Wicked.

I don't think it will happen. It's pretty unfilmable in many ways too.

I heard that Jason Isaacs will be playing Jackson Brodie in an adaption of Kate Atkinson's Edinburgh based Case Histories. This is TV but interesting too. I hope he films near my house.
Sostie
I always thought Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell would be best suited as a BBC(production values)/HBO (money) co-production.

I do too. There is too much detail. Maybe a mini-series? They have fallen by the wayside lately. The person who did the BBC Oliver Twist with Tom Hardy and Sophie Okenado would be good (Cokey Giedroyc).
