Co-written by Frank Darabont. Nuff' said.

(And he was extremely hilarious talking about it at the New Beverly last month: "I leaned over to Chuck (Russell, director/co-writer) just now and said to him, 'Help me out here, I don't remember how we killed this fuckin' kid'..." laugh.gif)

Brilliant.

I love the third movie. But this is coming from a girl who also loves all the Leprechaun movies.

I was afraid of him before I watched them. I just thought the idea of someone being able to kill you in your dreams was the most terrifying thing ever and refused to watch the Simpsons Hallowe'en episode based on the films because even Groundskeeper Willie as Freddie was something I found too scary. Once I actually watched them, though, I found him to be a really funny character, all things considered.

I love that Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode, though I've always been creeped out by the bit where Willie is on fire. It's pretty disturbing for a family cartoon.
Starscream`s Ghost
They're all terrible. And I always had a problem with people (anti)hero-worshipping a child killer.

"Oh, fishy, fishy, fissshhhhhh.... that went....wherever I....did goooooo....."

Ahem.

In my opinion, and as hokey as it probably looks now, I still feel the first film was by far the best of the series. It was a budget flick at the time, and most of the 'special effects' look bloody terrible now, but the genuinely surreal nature of the nightmares (long-armed-Freddie included), coupled with the excellent theme (best horror theme since 'Halloween') just enhanced the downright creepiness.

If they can replicate that same surreal edge, and with a decent budget behind it to ensure the FX aren't utter gash, it could be improved no end. I reckon Thornton is a fantastic casting, and I really look forward to seeing what they do with it.

Looks like it could be good.

I do like Jim Carrey, and I love Danny Wallace's book, but I'm not wholly convinced that Yes Man isn't going to be a bit shit.

I'll be doubly gutted if it is. Fingers crossed it ain't.

Yay! I love Pitch Black, and Chronicles has some good moments - just let down by the silly Necormongers. The game, Escape from Butcher Bay was good too. More Riddick films please.

This was the first one I ever saw. I was eight and I loved it.

What one if it that has the guy in the shower being whipped to death by floating towels. That made me laugh hard as a kid.

Chev's heart beats after he hits the ground, which means he survived the impact (presumably because he's a wizard); that's just science.

Or perhaps because he cushioned the fall by landing on, and bouncing off, a car roof. Not very believeable, but more so than being a wizard. Wizards are wimps, and Chev can kick their ass. Dungeon Siege proved it.

Anyway, why are we speculating/pontificating. The important thing is that Chev is back! This time it's electricity!

I reckon it would probably be worth working out how much the crumpling of the roof would reduce the force acting upon Chev. Presumably enough that he doesn't become one with the pavement like that creepy paving slab face in that very bad episode of Doctor Who.

Paul W S Anderson hasn't let me down yet. It's got a pretty good review in the new Empire. "Statham has threatened to become a genuine lead man for a while now - he is the making of Death Race"

Second feature film from Rian Johnson, writer-director of 'Brick'. Looks very flash and Ocean's Elevens-y with a great cast. Trailer seems to give too much away but it could be pretty fun.

Only four issues in and the excellent comic Kick-Ass is already in pre-production. From the Stardust writing/directing team, I'm sure it will be toned down - considering the subject matter and graphic violence not a surprise - which will have fanboys frothing.

That actually looks really good to me. I don't really get scared by horror films these days. ... but if a trailer has me on the edge of my seat, I say it's worth a watch.... even if all the best bits were in the trailer. ... I think I'll have to check this one out.

Yea, doesn't look too bad. Apparently loosely based on a Korean film. It probably isn't going to be anything too new but I think it looks pretty watchable. I read a review somewhere which said something similar, and also that Mr Sutherland plays the part very well indeed.
