The Damned United trailer

Looks very promising, with another good performance from Michael Sheen. Must read the novel soon.

Ooh. I like the look of that. Hope it gets a decent release over here.

Yeah, me too, it does look rather good indeed. Sheen's a bloody chameleon, isn't he?

They showed this on Soccer AM a week or so ago and were all rather excited by the whole thing.

Stephen Graham as Billy Bremner is an interesting prospect.

GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra Teaser

Finally, Destro speaks with a Scots accent.

Why didn't it play the Cobra song?

*Crashing through the sky, comes a fearful cry*
COBRA! (Cobra!)
COBRA! (Cobra!)
*Armies of the night, evil taking flight!*
COBRA! (Cobra!)
COBRA! (Cobra!)
*Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, panic spreading far and wide! Who can turn the tide?*
GI JOE! (A Real American Hero, GI Joe will dare!)
GI JOE! (A Real American Hero, GI is there!)
*Fighting for freedom whereever there's trouble over land and see and air, GI Joe is there!*

And so on.
Starscream`s Ghost
Like this, you mean?

Because Cobra doesn't exist yet?
GundamGuy_UK
They could change the words...

Is Cobra Commander in it?

You don't need to link me that video, it's one of the best intros to a movie ever. Better than the entire rest of the movie, in fact. Apart from when Commander turns into a snake.

Just imagine if the teaser had been this opening remade shot-for-shot in live action? I'd have paid money just for the trailer if it were.

I dunno, it looked like a lot of really silly fun to me. Which Sommers is capable of. (He's also capable of unmitigated crap, of course, so it could go either way.)

If Adewale doesn't say "BODY MASSAGE!" at some point, of course, I'll be a tiny bit disappointed.

I just had a look at his imdb profile to see what the ratio was and it seems to lean more towards the latter, though the wild-card sub-category of ''pretty dull literary adaptations'' does kind of throw the balance somewhat since it's difficult to say which side of the fence they would fall on.

Speaking of which, I noticed that he has signed on to direct the film adaptation of Terry Brooks' Magic Kingdom For Sale. I really liked the book when I was 9 so it could be interesting to see what happens with the film. I kind of hope that it's successful so that they could do The Black Unicorn, which I remember being really funny and infuriating.

That reminds me, I'll happily admit to being very pleased when I heard he was off of "John Carter of Mars" and Andrew Stanton was on. I can't see that hurting the film in the least tiny bit.

Very interesting. I find it odd that John Carter of Mars is being touted as Pixar's first live-action film; I thought that Brad Bird's 1906 would come out first. I guess that film must have been delayed or isn't being made by Pixar.

Surely someone has posted the X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer!

In other comic book news....in the new Total Film (a Comic-Book movie special), as well aslearning of loads of adaptations in the pipe-line I knew nothing about, two nuggets of info particularly caught my eye..

The Captain America flm The First Avenger: Captain America will be an origin story set in WWII. And directed by Joe Johnston who has already proved himself with retro comic-book hero films with the excellent Rocketeer.

and

Guy Ritchie is lined up for Sgt Rock. Ritchie says he has "an actor in mind". Dare I dream? Could it be him?

Oh, and Sam Mendes doing Preacher. Interesting.

Not sure if this is the same footage that appeared at Comic-Con, but seeing it on full screen and in decent quality is worth posting it for.

Also; Gambit, motherfuckers.

I'm not 100% sold on Johnston. The Rocketeer is a good film, but I'd have to see how The Wolf Man turns out before getting all that excited about his take on Cap.

I've made my distrust of Mendes and my lack of faith in the ability of anyone to do the story in a single film known before, so I won't retread that ground.

It seems the Serge Gainsbourg biopic, Serge Gainsbourg, vie héroïque, is in production.

Wow - they look perfect! If pressed, they could always get my sister and her fella! Actually they are more like Stefanie and Stefan from 'Science of Sleep'.

Laetitia Casta plays Brigette Bardot. She certainly has all the requirements.

It should be a good 'un considering the life/career of the great man. I wonder who'll play Whitney Houston?

All I need now are films about Bert Trautman, The KLF and Klaus Kinski and that would be all my dream bipoics filmed

I am cautiously optimistic about this. It looks fun and I like the concept and idea of it. My only issue is I've read theres a 30+ minute card game scene all spoken in German, it's not that it's just dialogue or in a foreign language that bothers me, it's the awful nature of the dialogue from Deathproof that worries me. Sure it may have been "realistic" but by fuck it was boring to watch and listen to, if the dialogue is witty and engaging and funny I won't mind but by christ I hope it doesn't bore me to tears like Deathproof did.

I quite liked Superman Returns, but I think it is a shame that Fuller tried to continue on from the end of Superman II rather than tell his own story.

I can't say I'm unhappy about the idea of a re-boot, as I have no wish to watch a film with Superman Jr. in it, but at the same time I'm really not convinced the Wachowski brothers are the right people to entrust the franchise to.

Does anyone know if Fuller will be going back to the X-Men again now? (I'm guessing the answer is no, but you can always hope . . .).
