I found this myself just now... it's on his Agent's page (Hamilton Hodell)
http://www.hamiltonhodell.co.uk/page.asp?partid=74You can see, he's playing the Thompson Twins (or just one of them? Probably CGI or something for the other, lol)
This might not even be final, I only found it like 5 minutes ago. Figure I'd get the wheel rolling.

I'm trying hard, but for the life of me I can't picture Nick in a bowler hat . . .

Really? Because, if I'm completely honest, I'm having trouble not picturing him in a bowler hat.

Reading up on it, I dont think it's a live-action movie. Looks to be a CG film, so I guess it's just a voice-over.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tintin_(film)But it's
motion capture CG. ... like Beowulf. So he will be actually acting in it.
I was having a conversation just the other day about who'd be right to play the Thompson twins, though we didn't mention Nick. I was watching an old episode of Jeeves and Wooster the other day, and thought the twins who played Claude and Eustace in that would have been marvellous.
I'm sure Nick will pull it off, but it is a surprise bit of casting. I wonder who they'll get to play Captain Haddock?
I'm hoping for my Dad, or Robert De Niro.

Captain Haddock is going to be played by Andy Serkis, who, if you've seen King Kong, you'll know is perfect for the role.
Frost is definitely a surprise choice, but I'd imagine he could pull it off.
I have seen King Kong, and I disagree.
My Dad would have been much better. Bloody Serkis and his Peter Jackson shaped meal ticket.

I think Jackson is just as lucky to have Serkis as a reliable go-to guy as Serkis is to have such a healthy source of income. More people should watch his non-Jackson directed work, Deathwatch and Sugarhouse for a start. I think he’s a great choice. If it’s motion capture CGI though, does that mean Frost is going to have a few pounds shed, as the Thompson Twins weren’t as indulgently built as Mr. Frost, shall we say.

Well no. It's CGI. Did Ray Winstone have to lose weight (& gain height) for Beowulf?

Exactly, I mean is he going to have a few CGI pounds shed, ala Winstone.

The Oscar winners are scrambling to find a new backer for their dream franchise Tintin after Universal balked at the filmmakers' $130 million budget for an ambitious trilogy of films based on the Belgian boy wonder.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the studio unexpectedly pulled out after deciding that a cofinancing partnership with Paramount Pictures wasn't worth the risk to its bottom line in today's difficult economic environment.

It's getting released in NZ around the same time as the Western Europe dates. Guessing it might be October like UK.
