Oooh! Decisions, decisions. Do I pick and album from each year? One from 10 great acts? Or shall I just list the Nick Cave albums for that decade and pad out the rest?

Cheers dude.
I'm going to find this nigh on impossible to say the least. I drafted a Top 15 almost immediately after I got to work at some ungodly hour this morning. That will easily bloat to Top 30 once I get home, with all the additional "but what about such-and-such?" shenanigans.
Good grief.

Don't forget Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine people. I am serious. Don't forget them
Damn, 1991 alone has nearly filled my list. I've not even reached the Brit Pop or Trip Hop years

This should be quite challenging since most of my favourite albums are from the last ten years or pre-1990. Looking through my collection could throw up some surprises.

Mine will probably be quite standard, actually, since I only started buying music in 2002, so my buying has largely about getting the ''big'' albums rather than stumbling across lesser known acts.

I've narrowed my selection down to 14. I can't see how it's possible to bring it down to 10. - Can I submit a top 14 albums??
I guess I'll just try & order them & see what ends up at the bottom.

How are we supposed to order them?.... how can you possibly say that one excellent album is preferential to another excellent album?
You ask the impossible.
Seriously, can we make it a top 15?.... Why does everything have to go in tens anyway? ... because we have 10 digits?... that's no reason.

You'll just have to be ruthless.
I'm going to focus solely on those albums I consider to have nary a duff track on it. Holy crap I just thought of another five.

I think asking for 15 for albums would be way too much work to ask of one person. I really think albums would produce more varied lists than say a film poll. I think ten will be pretty difficult to collate as it is.
Why should we change it to a Top 15?....because you can't narrow it down to 10...that's no reason.

Although I may get some inspiration for the Nineties night I'm helping my mates to organise on Boxing Day. Although we were thinking more 90'S super-cheese along the lines of Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, Scatman and Whigfield. Anyone wearing a shellshuit or bumbag/cycling shorts combo gets in free!

This is made so much easier by the fact that bands like The Cure, Smiths, Cult, Echo & The Bunnymen had past their peak or split by the 90s
On the downside I could fill my 20 with Nick Cave & Depeche Mode albums and still need at least another 20 places.

Actually i'll get started with the thinking and listening now, not going out for another 5 hours yet, with just bath/shower and changing in between.
I already know my number 1, and a few others for my top 5, but the rest require thinking.
Just by way of keeping some interest in this thread alive and indeed to nudge a few memory cells for people, I'm going to be suggesting - Sostie-style - a random selection of 90's artists, and/or albums. These may/may not be legitimately serious suggestions. Feel free to join in.
