Sostie
So which of these winners is your fave?
Zoe
Really tough to choose between

Suede - Suede
Portishead - Dummy
Roni Size/Reprazent - New Forms
PJ Harvey - Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea

I voted Screamdelica who just edged it in front of
Portishead - Dummy
Roni Size/Reprazent - New Forms
Badly Drawn Boy - Hour of the Bewilderbeast
PJ Harvey - Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea

I haven't heard any of the albums after PJH and am not really tempted. I've never even heard of Speech Dabelle. I know Screech from Saved by the Bell, though.

A no-brainer here.

Portishead by a country mile.

I am still quite annoyed about this year's result.

Also New Forms is an overrated piece of crap.
Starscream`s Ghost
I voted for Pulp, because it was one of the first 'proper' albums I'd ever really listened to.

I went for Elbow. The Portishead album is great, but I think The Seldom Seen Kid edges it.

I voted for Dizzee Rascal. I like a lot of the albums on the list, and love a handful, but that's the only one which made a sizable impact on me when I first heard it.

It's got to be Antony and the Johnsons for me. I discovered him not long before he won the award when he appeared on Jools Holland's show, and was so moved by his voice. He still amazes me every time I listen to him.

I forgot about that and missed it in the poll. It still wouldn't knock Screamdelica off the top spot though.

Same vote from yours truly, mostly the same reasons. 'Hope There's Someone' is really one of the finest songs I've heard in the last decade.

It's a shame the Arctics album got so done to death on its release, it's actually a very good album which has been ruined by over-hype and the NME. I'm glad I can go back and listen to it now without getting confronted with its tracks at every flick of a radio switch. It's odd to think of a time when that sound was unique (ish) to them, so many bands have copied it since, and largely failed to make it sound anywhere near as good.
Zoe
I cannot bear his voice.
Sostie
For me a choice between Primal Scream, PJ Harvey, Portishead, Badly Drawn Boy and Suede. PJ wins though. Without a doubt her best album.

The M-People win is still astounding. Especially when you look at the quality it was up against:

Blur – Parklife
Ian McNabb – Head Like A Rock
Shara Nelson – What Silence Knows
Michael Nyman – The Piano Concerto and MGV
The Prodigy – Music for the Jilted Generation
Pulp – His 'n' Hers
Take That – Everything Changes
Therapy? – Troublegum
Paul Weller – Wild Wood

I guess the voters were spoilt for choice. Still, Pulp, Prodigy and especially Therapy? were robbed.
Nonus Aequilibrium
A pretty easy choice for me. PJ Harvey's the only one on the list I like. Would have been a different story if The Prodigy had won the one Sostie was talking about though.
