Yeah but the 'Cube needs a propper send-off.
True, but from a business point of view it would make more sense to delay a killer title for a new, exciting and innovative console than to leave it for (and it pains me to say this) a lame duck console. Fair enough if they would want to put it on the Cube, but pretty much everyone who wants to buy one will have bought one by now and they won't be able to bring too many more to the fold because nintendo are shit at marketing. If they want to build on the success of the Cube (it's got good sales and made a good deal of money on account of being so cheap to make) then they need to get teh Revolution off to a flying start. I'm prepared to wait because it will be worth the wait.

I don't know what a controller S (

It's the name for the slightly smaller Xbox controllers that were introduced after the complaints that the original ones were too big and uncomfortable to use. They were designed with Japanese gamers in mind but are now pretty much standard for the console.

TonyHawk games are alright, but the only really good one was Tony Hawks 3 on the GBA, the 3D incarnations have done nothing for me.
You speak a foolery there my friend. That game is poop. Considering that all of the levels were simply cut down versions of the true game I cant see your line of thinking.
Considering the amount of time spent on developing Twighlight Princess for the Cube, I really doubt that they would create more work for themselves by overhauling it for the Revolution.
Got an extra mission level unlocked on Mario Kart. Got star rating or above on all missions and unlocked some insanely hard stuff to do. 6 power slide boosts on Rainbow Road. Hardcore. Got 2 stars on it! One more sub-mission to go!

It depends on how difficult it would be to convert between the two; Dinsosaur Planet started out on the N64 with completely different characters but within a few months it had been converted onto the Gamecube and the characters had been replaced with the Starfox cast. The conversion took relatively little time and that was converting from a cartridge based format to disc. Considering the fact that Twilight Princess was initially delayed about 3 months ago and (if rumours are to be believed) won't be released until November) that will have given Nintendo's team (which apparently is quite large for this game) ample time to convert it.

Been playing a bit of Condemned, pretty good so far. It's way more tense than F.E.A.R., there have been a couple of times when Condemned has scared the crap out of me. Not quite so sure that the whole melee thing is quite enough, though, it'd be nice to have a bit more variety than just bashing people to death...
Also finally got around to trying Call of Duty 2 today as well, this being on the PC... Quite impressed with this too.

Hate to say it, but I told you so.
Totally taken Mario Kart apart now. Finished all the missions on at least 1 star. Some of the later lavels are hardcore.
Played Fifa 06 last night. Pretty good compared to some of the older games. Its clear that EA has taken a lot of inspiration from the Pro Evo series, which is no bad thing in my book. Still not as good as Evo in the end though.
Got a new graphics card and The Movies on boxing day. The game itself is pretty good, a mix between the Sims and the "Theme" branded games. Was really looking forward to the movie making option but its turned out to be very limited. Hopefully, with a few more hours of practice I'll be able to make something half decent.

Nah, I think you were overly harsh. The atmosphere more than makes up for the rest of it, it's what most games lack. The melee system is actually quite good, it's just that it could have done with a bit of something else too.
I noticed the complaint about it being linear, but also that you said you like the story... Stories are inherently linear, so you'll struggle to find something that satisfies both. The game was designed to be linear, as are nearly all first person games. Some throw in a bit of an alternative path but on the whole they're still linear. The trick is just to do what Half Life and its sequel did, be completely linear but be so damn good that no one cares.

Just a word of warning. Having played 12ish hours and gotten onto the second disk, be prepared for boredom and very little in the way of action. In the first 12 hours I played a maximum of 5 actual action sequences (fighting battles etc). That worked out to about 7 hours+ of very badly acted dialogue to sit through. You have been warned.
Your warning was valid as I returned the game to Gamestation. What I don't get is that this is the first of the series available here in the UK without having to modify your console, yet it seems if you haven't played Xenogears and/or Xenosaga Episode 1 it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Indeed it is a bit poop. Classic mode has a few of the levels from the old games but its very easy compared to the older games. Shame really, its the first bad Tony Hawk game in my opinion.
Pro Skater 2 was a beast, played a demo of that for months before it came out.
On a very bad note personally, I lost my Soul Calibur 3 data yesterday, while playing the game. Finished with all characters and just about everything unlocked. Loaded up fine, played for while, went to save and it tells me that my data is corrupt. The game didnt crash, or do anything weird. Everything else on my memory card is fine. WHY WHY WHY. Really cant be arsed doing it all again, but I need to so I stuff unlocked for 2 player. Its a bugger.

I just finished Condemned, and it's far better than I originally thought. Bloody excellent game, it's actually got a decent story, some great set pieces, and it really does absolutely scare the shit out of you at times. It is *very* violent though, for those that like to avoid that kinda thing. Like if you knock someone down to their knees, you can do finishing moves which involve things like slamming their head into the concrete or breaking their neck...

"GTA: Liberty City Stories" is becoming infuriating. I love the game and there are some great moments but this one mission is really becoming annoying - you have to go through all the song and dance at the start (being given the mission, getting to the location etc) and then loads of guys attack you with chainsaws (and if you happen to get killed then you have to go through ALL that stuff at the beginning again... it just gets boring).

Well I've played quite a few hours on this, so here's my summary so far.
I don't know if you're familiar with any of the earlier Suikoden titles, but if so, like the earlier ones you do end up with a 'base' to recruit people. According to reviews you can recruit up to 108 people. Not all these are usable as characters in fights though, some will fill certain roles in your base like manning shops. A nice feature is the support character who plays no part in combat but has a secondary function. Some heal the party a little bit after each fight, some get more treasure per fight and so on.
Graphically it's nothing spectacular, but the game seems BIG, and it does have an addictive quality that keeps you saying 'just one more little bit'. The combo feature that certain characters can learn is pretty cool. Also, upgrading your weapon instead of constantly buying new ones is a good thing.

Simple effective controls. The sort of game that eats hours without you noticing. Only downer is that the in game movie maker function isnt quite as in depth as I would have liked.

The GTA games have always had consistent level of improvement with each sequel, SA especially. Considdering the power of the next generation of consoles the next game is likely to be astounding. Graphical improvement is liable to be the biggest thing in the next one. Improved damage models for vehicles and buildings would be nice. Rockstar seem to listen to their fans so theres bound to be loads of little things in the next one that'll surprise.

But GTA games get longer and harder to make as well with each iteration. The limitations on games now isnt the console's power, but the economics of making a game that utilises all that power.

By the time i got tp that mission I had the revolver in my base from finding hidden packages. Makes it a LOT easier. If you go back and do it again twice, you eventually complete it and get the chicken suit as a costume. Mind you, you have to fight off chainsaw wielding chickens first, and they take two revolver shots each. I eventually pplumped for the assault rifle to finish them buggers off.
The mission thats got me the most so far was where you take control of someone elses car and have to run loads of people over. Took me AGES!
