Bought Need for Speed: Most Wanted because I wanted a nice shiny online racing game. Absolutely loving it, although I prefer the offline game ot the online one.  When you play online, you can only reaally play when you;ve completed the whole game because everyone seems to use maxed out end of game cars.  Anyway, my ruded Punto nearly holds its own biggrin.gif
*

Good choice with the Punto. I've got mine totally maxed out now and it can beat the end cars really easy. I also recomend getting the Evo also.

I've been playing a fantastci game called Katamari Damacy. I don't htink it's been released over here yet, but it's the most fun game around and has a fantstic soundtrack. The game itself it pretty simple. You play the son of a God like character, who has thrown a paddy and destroyed all the stars. Your aim is to collect rubbish and anything else you can get by stick stuff to a ball you push around. Once you've reached your target, you use the stuff you've collected to make a star.

It gets really silly, where you can roll you ball of stuff so big that you can pick up whole cities, as well as people and animals. biggrin.gif

Enemy Territory download page

You'll have to register there, it's no biggie, just like signing up to a forum.

Make sure you download Enemy Territory Windows (Version: 2.55 / Size: 257.78 MB)

And also the patch Enemy Territory Update 2.60 for Win (Version: 2.60 / Size: 5.41 MB)

oh, nearly posted without this important piece of info, Scroll down to the tools section of the page and also download Enemy Territory Minimiser (Size: 23.5 KB) and download this to your desktop (regardless of where you downloaded the rest)

Install the first download and then install the patch. Now if you've never used online games before you might need alittle lesson on how to play online.

1) Double click on the Enemy Territory Minimiser (It's call etmin), this means that if you get a Skype call or MSN message etc. Whilst playing you can minimise the screen by pressing Alt+Z. Believe me it comes in handy if you get a bunch of your friends all skyping in and out of conference calls because your on opposite teams.

2) Double click the Enemy Territory shortcut that the install left on your desktop

3) Mouse click to stop the intro screen (well you can watch it for a few times, but it's nowt special)

4) Go up to the right and either click Play online or Host game, I'd recommend for the first good few times you click on play online and play on other peoples computers....Once you are comfortable playing the game (swapping professiona between each spawn etc. Then you or a friend might want to Host a game, which means it will just be you guys (well, if you make it private) and each kill is made by someone you know, as oppose to the experts that just sit and take out newbs on the public servers....

I went too far again didn't I? Anywho's there is loads of sights about with more info about ET.

Hardest bit is the big download

The other game is called TrackMania and is abit too heavy on graphics for my poor Sony Vaio with it's 64Mb, but it's s'ppose to be alot of fun.

Also Guild Warscan be bought now for about £16 and you can play online with over a million people for as long as you want with no monthly fee.

The PC version is pretty immense but it's tough and needs a good system to get the best from it. The xbox version is okay but a letdown compared to the pc version. Didn't like Invisble War at all.

I got me a copy of the sequel: We Love Katamari and have been playing that in between bouts on Shadow Of The Colossus (climby climby stabby stabby) and the original (and in my view superior) Deus Ex.

Far Cry is brilliant, definitely one of the better first person shooters. If you have a shader model 3.0 graphics card and the patches, you can turn on HDR Rendering. That does mean having a Geforce 6800 or above though.

Yeah i am mainly addited to guildwars at the moment... its a fantastic game,
as for chatting while playing, i use skype with my mates, but for the guild battles (8 people on yr team) we use ventrillo, the quality is a good as skype - not as user friendly, but you can have (as far as i know) as many people connected at once as you like - where as the skype max limit is 5 at the moment... smile.gif

i love farcry, i was on the steam level the other day ( the first night level where you first obtain the cryvision goggles) and it was so visualy awesome i was blown away, and then i did not see the merc creeping up and was literaly blown away smile.gif

great game, but if you buy it make sure you patch it it works far better then

Well, I was playing NHL 2004, but I accidentally deleted my current season, whilst trying to back the files up, so I'll need to start anew.

I'm going to trade in Onimusha and Fahrenheit and see what I can pick up for £15. Hopefulyl an NHL/NBA game of some kind, I haven't played one in years and they're awesome.

You folks need to buy this when it comes out over there if you're the slightest bit interested in RPGs (April 2006)

A flash adventure game that just wasted my morning:

Dead Case
Sean of the Dead
My friend came over yesterday with his special DS gadget that allows him to download games off the internet onto a memory card and play them on his DS (as well as homebrews, videos and music) and we had a go on Trauma Centre: Under The Knife which is great fun if you keep tappin' 'A' during the talking, and also Kirby Powere Paintbrush which was quite good. I also helped him beat level 2 (he didn't know you could breathe bubbles) and I helped him get to stage 5/6.

I then played Mario and Luigi 2 until 6 in the morning, clocking up so far a total of 15 hours or so, then died at the largest Princess Shroom incarnation.

The new Resident Evil DS is pretty cool

It's just portable Resident Evil as if it were on the PlayStation, old videos (live action) intact.
Hobbes
Well, I re-re-bought San Andreas and also The Suffering. GTA's just as good as it's always been, but The Suffering's something else. It's not scary as such, but it's totally fucked up. Ghosts, monsters with knives instead of limbs, massive things with no eyes but a rotating turret filled with shotguns, executions, Nazis, it's all right here. It's excellent and creates a wicked atmosphere, so you never know what's next. Imagine Resident Evil with way more gore and set on a prison island. It's sorta like that. Currently, I am enjoying shooting shit with double revolvers and protecting my newfound black sidekick guy, who talks plenty of jive. He's almost certainly going to die, but I'm keeping him as safe as I can.
The ability to transform into a huge monster is also freakin' sweet; dicing creatures up is a lot of fun. Awesome game thus far.

Fun? But without all the irritating trappings of the cliche-after-cliche storyline and usually quite rubbish music.

I also have an Evo, they're my only two career cars, although I have a variety of other cars for multiplayer, including my all purple Clio V6 biggrin.gif

The one thing I don't get about online play is the Perfomance Match option. Does anyone know what that actually does?

Hmmm I was thinking of buying a Gameboy Micro after I sold my DS to pay off my 360. But this may have tempted me to pay out the extra money and get a DS again. Anyone know any decent RPGs for either DS or the micro?

There's a completely online one you can try called Runescape (runescape.com), although you have to pay for certain skills and map areas.

DS RPGS- A new one came out the other day called Lunar Genesis. Looks pretty cool. Old school, but thats the way I like them. I'll be getting it in a couple of days.

Played a bit of Runescape. Not that impressed. Better games to waste my time with.

Sweet! Is that for the origional DE? Could you post a link to download it? Me and my bro always laugh about the skull gun. Finding the note about it in Invisible war was great.
Hobbes
Well, I just beat The Suffering, and I have to say it was a cracking game. May well hang on to it and come back later; there are 3 different endings. Being the good samaritan I am, I got the 'good' ending for helping people throughout, but if and when I return to it, I will play through and aim for the 'bad' ending, to level the playing field. If I can be arsed to go back and aim for the neutral one I do not know, but that said it was still a lot of fun to play. Recommended.

And does anyone else feel weird playing San Andreas since Chris Penn died? I feel weird whenever I hear his voice. Poor bastard.
wolfthe3rd
right i have a point that may make you accept me a bit better this is completely try ask seff i spent a srtight 17 hours on it in one day and completed resident evil 4 well wot u think to the and also in 2 days got gran turismo 4 25% complete how ace is dat come on gimme some respect

Not games I've played myself. Good all the same. As you may have gathered Halo is one of my faves. Tell me you've at least plaed final fantasy 7 and then I'll tip my cap.

Got a couple of sweet old school shooters downloaded. One called Everyextend and another called Warning Forever. Love the shoot'em ups

Am I the only one that curls up into a ball, starts crying and shouts 'Make it go away!' when they get stuck on a game? Guys...? Guys? Where you going? Don't leave me! I'm feeling quite vulnerable after getting killed by The Fear... I don't think I should be left alone...

I assume you mean MGS 3s The Fear? Easiest way to deal with him I find is to make sure you have loads of poisonous foods (fly agaric and poison arrow frogs from when you came through the area before) in your inventory, then toss those out and keep dodging. He'll come down, munch on the poison and be vulnerable for a nice easy stamina finish with the Mk 22. If that helps.

Nice. I suggest getting FF Tactics on PS1 or Tactics Advance on GBA. Both are top quality. Chocobo Racing is a bit kack isnt it?
Not sure what to think of Durge of Cerburus. I really want to see the storyline but apparently the gameplay is a bit duff.
