I cannot for the love of god stop playing football manager 2005, so I guess I'll have to go without Gods love for the next few months. I have exams to read for and stuff, this is not good.

Tekken 2 has been doing the round on my PSX.

Haven't bothered to unpack any of my other consoles since moving house, although my house mate got one of those new small PS2's a couple of days ago. smile.gif

Tekken 4 was quite good, but Lei is a caddy character to use. Just learn how to do Kings grab combos and you can kill your opponent pretty much straight away.

I like my moves to look pretty though. Lots of punch and kick combinations. Law is the character for me.
The Phantom
I bagged a copy of 'Clock Tower 3' for about a tenner yesterday. Anyone played any of this series? Always thought it looked quite good, and for a tenner didn't see why I shouldn't give it a whirl.

Also (for you Nintendo owners)does anyone here register the Star point things you get with Nintendo games, as I've been doing this on the Nintendo web site and have myself a large stash of points(about enough to cash them in for a game) but the catalogue is never updated with new goodies, wondered if anyone else noticed this.

But Kings grabs look good if you get the 10 or 12 hit ones to work. Just watching him snap arms, legs and backs is fun.

Oh lord, I have too many games to worry about:

Nevertheless, I have been struggling my way through Jak II on the PS2, and occasionally firing up my xbox now and then.

I got a copy of Vampire:The MAsquerade-Bloodlines from Game's sale for a tenner, I haven't tried it though, as I've been pretty busy with Sid Meiers Pirates and Half Life 2.

Anyone who played and enjoyed the old Pirates should get the new one.

Play it soon. You will enjoy it. For it is good.

I was given X-Men Legends recently, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.
Gnashville
Now that I have completed both Lord of the Rings titles and Star Wars battlefront I am finding it hard to find meaning in my PS2 life...

I got GTA San Andreas for xmas from a mate. Not that impressed. Once you get past all the 'yo mutha fucking homies' shit it gets a bit repetitive. It does have an excellent soundtrack. You put it on Radio X and it's Elastica and GnR and Stone Roses and stuff from the 90s.

I haven't played Bloodlines yet, but from what I've heard it's absolutely riddled with bugs, feeling like an incomplete product.
Douglas Nicol
Gnashville, have you played Lord of the Rings:The Third Age yet?

UGH! I hate this game. It's horrible, please avoid it, even if you are an avid LOTR fan.

In my opinion, of course.
Gnashville
No, picked up the box but didn't like the look of it.. Is it bad huh?

The Fellowship game was shit as well...
frostitute
The only good LOTR titles are The Two Towers and The Return of the King. Find those if you want a great experience in the LOTR environment.
Cricket
I'm playing "NBA Live 2004" at the moment, which is a lot of fun. And it was cheap to buy. biggrin.gif
Douglas Nicol
I liked The Third Age myself, if you've played either Final Fantasy X or Final Fantasy X-2 it's practically the same game engine.

Gnashville, one thing to remember is that the Fellowship of the Ring game and War of the Ring done by Sierra are licences of the book.

The Two Towers, Return of the King, LOTR:The Third Age and Battle for Middle Earth are all film licences.
Gnashville
Yeah, you're right. Different kettle of fish...

I know I'm going to sound like a LOTR geek, but my girlfriend just came back from NZ with LOTR Monopoly!!

It's great!
Douglas Nicol
I did play War of the Ring, and that was utter crap, it's like a substandard Warcraft 3 mod.

Battle for Middle Earth looks decent though.

I've played and completed Two Towers and liked it, except the bloody Uruk Berserkers.

What I'd like to know about The Third Age is, if it there are two or three different endings available.
frostitute
Just one, I believe.
Sean of the Dead
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within has taken residensy in my PS2 at the moment while Paper Mario 2(ol' skool) is sleeping in my Gamecube.
Kris
PoP:WW is poooooo!
Sean of the Dead
you make the Prince cry.I just get a buzz from running across the wall , leaping off another wall on to a curtain, sliding down the curtain and backflipping into a battle against a 10 foot giant. But that's just me. I prefer Paper Mario anyway.

You can do all of that in Prince of Persia the sands of time.... except for the 10 foot giant bit.
Sean of the Dead
You can't slide down curtains:P I completed SoT

I agree with you my kind sir.

I made it to the final encounter....until I found that there are two endings, and my chance to see the "real" ending was missed about 5 hours behind.

The prince's smoldering generic rage just doesn't cut it for me.

The Dahaka scenes were just rubbish, trial and error. And those 10 foot giants? Yeah, they get boring too after fighting them about 10-20 times because of the constant backtracking you do. I avoided fights altogether in that game, but I really love the puzzles and constant trap avoiding.

I've been playing GTA San Andreas for a while...slowed down a bit because I completed the game then accidentally deleted that file wacko.gif it won't get old though. I'm considering getting Viewtiful Joe for my ps2, it looks awesome. Any opinions?

Do any of you get gaming magazines?

I do, have too many actually! Thanks to various free subscriptions!

I also have too many games. Poor me...but it's a fun hobby nonetheless!

tameblue
Been playing X-Men Legends for a few days now, on my PS2...ok.

The jury's out at the moment though...wouldn't exactly call it an RPG though.
Sean of the Dead
Isn't X-men legends a bit like Gauntlet+X-men+RPG?
frostitute
You can pretty much say that, yeah. The multiplayer is kinda lame however, much better in single-player!
Sean of the Dead
That's the problem these days. Make great mate-bashing fun multiplayer mode and be happy.
joelb
The San Andreas multiplayer was a bit disappointing..especially when helicopters come after you and you can't use rocket launchers. ah well. it's all good

I subscribe to Edge, but I have only been subscribed to that magazine for 4 months.
Kris
I've been subscribed / buying Edge for about 4 years (I had to temporarily stop my subscription because someone kept nicking the mags from the communcal post lockers at uni).
I like their new redesigned look, but they've gotten rid of RedEye and are becoming more like an industry magazine ala MVC sad.gif .

Easy that - Dawn of War.
It's actually a fantastic game, but the GameSpy (middleware) lobby system is the biggest pile of poo in existnance. You typically need to spend around 10-20 minutes to SETUP a a game with some friends....and that's assuming once you have launched that nobody will drop from the game...

Lylat Wars on N64 is pretty bad (yes, I said N64). Terrible fogging, needleslly large levels so you get lost...the single player is good though.

The single player is great. It's much better than Dinosaur Planet. Starfox 2 looks kick arse >:)

I never played Dinosaur planet...I thought that it looked pretty good, but I never got a GameCube. Haven't seen anything about Starfox 2.

Starfox Assault (the official title) is coming out this year on Nintendo Gamecube soon...here's some images:

And was Dinosaur Planet it's title in Europe? In America it was called Starfox Adventures, and yes I totally agree it was poo, but the graphics were great!

Has anyone heard of Mario Baseball? Those crazy Japanese, what will they think of next? Mario DDR/Kung Fu simulator?
frostitute
Rumor is that the Mario gang will be playable in the Gamecube version of NBA Street Vol 3, as an "All-Star Team" of sorts.
