Well I'm hooked. Quite possibly to the tune of a tenner a month when the trial runs out. Great stuff. If you've ever played Elite or Frontier you'll have not bother getting into this one. Ignored all the added complications so far (interacting with any real people for example) and concentrating solely on playing the market and getting some cash together. Unfortunately it's so addictive that I literally fell asleep at my computer whilst in autopilot last night and when I woke up my ship had been blowed up and all my money was gone.
Recommended.
Is it better than X2 - The Threat? (Ignoring the online/offline aspect) I was really looking forward to X2 but it really just bored me to death. Mainly due to the horrible controls and crappy combat.

A shame indeed...
I think Mario Party 21 will have this plot:
"It's a-time for another party!.....a.
When walking down an alleyway, Mario saw a group of orphans trying to dance. He felt sorry for them and went home to try and not think about it. "Oh a-no," Mario cried. "It's-a not-a working....a." So he decided to raise money for a gun to kill the orphans by having an amazing party!"
Or
"Bowsers back!
Oh no, Bowser has returned to the Mushroom Kingdom and stolen all the happy clams! It's up to Mario and his pals, including his new friend Clamsworthy, to save the day by harnessing the power stars power and the magical clam guardian Clammetta will give you bonus super clams! He must do this by, for some reason, having a party and not running and jumping or anything like that. This is what Nintendo have decided to give you instead of a real Mario game, yay!Featuring bonus clam controller which allows you to be a super clam yourself!"
When will it stop....
I like Clamsworthy already!

Never played it. Never even heard of it. The controls are nice, you can do everything with just the mouse but there are keyboard shortcuts for most things. Haven't done much combat as yet, my spaceship's still quite shit.

Have just got Jade Empire on the Xbox, very beautiful game. I am the master of turning into a toad monster

Gotta love the character names though, Strangler Tien and Sagacious Zu, or Sun Li the Glorious Stategist. Great stuff.
I just got that myself, I've just reached the Imperial City. It looks like this game will turn out to be a lot better than the fun, but extremely flawed Fable.

Would this be because they all announced over-powered consoles (8 core processors?!) instead of ploughing money into continuing the Shenmue series?!
And remembering, with great power, comes massive storage needs, games won't look "fuckin' sweet as shit" like the technical demos since they all use 30GB discs filled with GBs of poorly acted realtime movies or sweeping camera moves for the real time FMV....WHAHEY!

I'm not so sure of that, as the DVD format (and the above DVD storage style formats they are experimenting with) will likely hold all the CGI/Live action footage. I wouldn't think too many film bits would be transferred to hard drives...

Hey, I quite liked Ico!

One of these days I really ought to try and finish it...
But, lately, I've been on a bit of a Goldeneye kick. That game may not look half as pretty as it once did, but it's still great fun.
And tomorrow I head to the mall to pick up the
Paradox Strategy 6-Pack, which features Europa Universalis II, Crown of the North, Hearts of Iron, and several other titles.

Is in mint condition, with the art cards in tact as well. If you don't get one from ebay let me know!

that's interesting, I felt here in the UK it wasn't inflated etc..at all. it simply received positive reviews across most mags, which I felt summed up the quality of the project but it just didn't sell. maybe it's just a game that really agreed with me. I just like the fact it was a new a new title. each to their own.

[Spider-man 2 thread merged with this one - R.]
i just bought this wonderful little time passer a few days ago and have noticed a few things, first of all the legend himself Bruce Campbell is doing the narrator and other voice clips and Mysterio says the three words that Ash needs to say to safely take the book out of the graveyard in the Army of Darkness (minus coughing). Just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything else in the game thats worth looking at.

I hear it's very fun, lots of action all that snazz.
It's very short, however. You may want to run through it more than once, however, to see all the endings and whatnot.

im normally like that with rpgs but this one just left me so unmotivated and didnt really have that great a storyline, i suppose that if id given it a bit more of a chance then i may have liked it but nah couldnt be arsed. now i just cant wait for The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess although im having doubts about the "turning-into-a-wolf" aspect of it.

It shall tumble and fall. Personally I think it's mistake, and it will only be bought by 'Sony people' who have never owned or even played a Nintendo console. I've met one of these people, he hadn't even heard of the Legend of Zelda...
But then again, he went to see Hero in the cinema and left within a minute because it had subtitles

It's hard to compare the PSP with the DS because the PSP is more of a portable media center. You can watch films and TV on it which you can't on a DS (yet). Personally I will not buy a PSP because if i want to watch tv i'll watch it at home; same goes for films, i'm not going to by a film on DVD and then on UMD just so i can watch it wherever! The games are also likely to suck ass.

Oh my goodness! I have been denied the pleasures of these new-fangled modern video games.
I have previously own playstation, but that was mostly for my daughter and we played cute little adventure games or board games on video. Well....my bf just brought over his PS2. WOW! How much fun!!!! I have been playing Red Dead Revolver and I just LOVE it! It's a really fun game although it seems to be a bit easy, as I am speeding right through it. That's okay though, I don't want it too be too difficult my first time.
