I want Ultimate Spiderman... so much...

I saw an advert for this last night - looks pretty damn sweet. My mate's a big Spidey fan, so he's well looking forward to it.

Hopefully there will be an influx of games similar to Fahrenheit as it does kick ass.
Got my ass handed to me last night on Street Fighter 3. Lack of practice killed my skill. Just lusting after Soul Calibur 3 now... mmmm
*

I don't know about that. I don't want to see a load of inferior rip offs of it. Maybe an influx of games that have dared to be original and brought something a bit new. You can't do that by copying someone else's game, obviously.

I just spent 2+ hours playing resident evil 2 as I'm being all nostalgic at the moment, only to get killed while trying to pistol 2 lickers. This would be fine except I had not saved once, curse my complacency. smile.gif

I rented Ultimate Spiderman today from blockbuster and it is really bad, I finished it in 4 hours because its too short, too easy and it has repetitive races which make you want to squash Spiderman with a rolled up newspaper for thinking 'lets race'. Venom looked like a possible good addition to the game but turned out to be rubbish, just jumping, eating people and throwing cars soon becomes boring--- give this game a miss.

A bit like the comics then. And presumably the third film.
QUOTE (zeden @ Oct 11 2005, 12:12 PM)
Also played Hulk through recently. Great fun for a while, bit easy though.

All the best games are.
zeden
Bought Spiderman. Played it for a few hours. Finished it. DAMN IT ALL TO HELL.
I really enjoyed it myself. The graphics are astounding and the missions arent all that bad. Probably going to trade it in and get Sonic Gems Collection and DBZ Budoki 3.
Been playing Age of Mythology recently. Classy game.
Jubei
Sont know whether this has been mentioned, but a Halo character will be appearing in DOA 4. Apparently (my mate told me) it is a female spartan, in full mjolnir armour. Interesting. Internet hype previously had it as being either Cortana or Keyes daughter, although neither of them are really 'fighty'. I guess it'll be quite a wrestler style character. Wonder what she'll look like under the armour? No doubt the DOA 4 makers will let is know, in all her bouncy glory wink.gif
Nonus Aequilibrium
F.E.A.R. just arrived today... pity I don't have time to play games at the moment.
fatseff1234
Battling away through Ocarina Of Time again, lack of money means no new games, not that there are any decent games coming out for the Game Cube at the moment sad.gif oh well, it'll make King Kong and Twilight Princess all the sweeter.
Blind I/O
Good Lord, it's gorgeous. From the makers of Ico - Shadow of the Colossus.
Omniscia
Now that I've finally figured out how to get Tom Brady to throw a pass, I've been spending way too much time with NFL 2K5.

If it helps teach you the ways of one of the pillars of American guy-ness, does it qualify as edutainment?
DazDaMan
Picked up an interesting little game yesterday - Pilot Down

You play the pilot of a USAAF B-24 Liberator that has been shot down over enemy territory in a 3rd person RPG. Will have to give it a thorough testing later, but it's not bad what I've done so far.

(Now THERE's a job I'd like - testing games!! biggrin.gif )

I'm sure you'd just love playing the same part of a game over and over again, trying to reproduce a once per 3 hour bug that appears to have no obvious cause... cool.gif

I was just thinking about that today strangly enough.(I was playing Rainbow Six 3 at the time)

Do you have to completly re-write a game to fix a bug? If so , I can see how that would be really dull.
DazDaMan
It's all part of the process! I'd do it if the job was there.

Erm, yes, we have to scrap the entire code base and start from scratch every time a tester reports something like "text incorrectly aligned in frontend menu". tongue.gif

I've been playing Nintendogs tonight, it's very cute. My dog was shit at catching frisbees though.

Quake IV. It's like doom3. but slightly less dark. And you can have your flashlight active when you hold certain guns.
frostitute
Quake IV suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks

Play FEAR!
DazDaMan
Currently playing Pilot Down for the PS2 - hard as shit!!

I'm only onto the third level, which is hard as buggery because you have to continually sneak past German soldiers, have a limited amount of ammunition at a time, can only carry so much, and generally get the shit blown out of you in no seconds flat if you're not careful.

Mind you, if it was easy, it wouldn't be a challenge! rolleyes.gif

Should be getting DBZ 4 soon. Should be a good laugh. Also gettnign Sonic Gems collection. Get to play Sonic R again!

Just found out the new Tony Hawk game is out next Friday!!!! My thumbs are aching with anticipation. Hopefully the new bmx bits will work nicely, never really liked Matt Hoffman's BMX.

Ah, that was a good bug. Sorry for any inconvenience caused but we felt that the entire game simply would not be right if that text was off by even the smallest amount. You've got to stand up for your principles after all.

It's quite fun, but, as Nonus pointed out, it's immensely repetitive, and it does get somewhat annoying from time to time. Still, it ain't a bad job.
Hobbes
Medal of Honor: European Assault.

Loved the first two, and the fighting in this is great, but it seems a little samey and according to the back of the box, I'm 3/4 of the way through already! I hope that there are more missions than I think, because it'll suck if there aren't.

Bought Dragonball z budokai tenkaichi today....hence me still being up!It has been a true night of super saiyans and marijuana!

The game is blatantly the best dbz one to date. There are still a few little things you would like tweaked, but there are so many good things about it you soon forget! Allthough the story mode wont mean anything to people who dont know the story already as there are big chunks of it missing. All in all, well worth the money and very enjoyable, i shall be playing it for sometime!I just need to get my mates over to whoop them on it now......!

Been playing it a bit more... The AI is excellent, that has to be said. I also had a few hours playing Quake 4, which surprised me. It's actually quite good. It's certainly a hell of a lot better than Doom 3.

Doom 3 did what it set out to do very well. It just didn't set out to do very much, unfortunately. What was in the game was extremely well executed, and the whole game was very polished. Quake 4 has more or less the same quality to it, but it has more varied sections like when you get to drive around in a hover tank or a big mech thing in outdoor sections, and you spend a lot of the game fighting as part of a squad, with a medic, tech guy, (who will heal you, repair your armour or modify your existing weapons) etc.

I picked up Madden 06 today, despite being an NFL newbie, and I'm having a great time. It's complicated though, but fun none the less.

I'm going to stop by the local game store on the way back from running some errands and pick up Madden 2004, I think. For what I'm looking for, £1.69 Madden is far more reasonable than £28.25 Madden.

No, weed simply enhances my enjoyment of anything.
I hate American Football, but I'm not going to make a snide comment. Each to their own. No need to be elitist.

I've been playing Max Payne recently. It's been ages since I shot up New York, and it's just as much fun as I remember.

I'm scouting around for the first Silent Hill next. Got a bit of a Jones for older titles at the moment.

Just got a Snes emulator off the net and am playing through Chrono Trigger again. I love that game.

I am currently playing final fantasy 7, can i just ask people what removes pyramids as i was fighting someone and he pyramided my arse. The toss pot.
zeden
Fighting Rufus near the begining of the game? You have to attack the pyramid, just be carefull that you highlight the pyramid and not your character.

Got my copy of DBZ:Budokai Tenkachi (or something like that). Finding it insanely hard. SSJ Stoner- any tips?

Anyone else played The Warriors yet? Kicks so much ass by my standard. Finally a true 3d sucessor to Streets of Rage.

Massively dissapointed by Sonic Gems Collection. The rose tinted glasses were well and truely smashed when I played Sonic R. Shame.
