in the commentary to SotD simon pegg metions From dusk till shaun. do you think that his character could transfer from zombies to vamps sucessfully or do you think shaun might go the way of van helsing.
i honestly think shaun could become an icon such as ash from the evil dead movies. it could bring british cinema back into the horror genre with style.
tell us what you think.

That would rock.

I would love to see that, and I have no doubt that Simon, Edgar and the crew could pull it off.
Oooh, then we could have other genres, too:
Shaun With the Wind
Shaun in 60 Seconds
The Shaun Gunmen
The Shaun Ranger
Well, okay not really.

The Shaun Identity
The Shaun Supremacy

I think the guys'll do a really good job with a sequel - they'd be very concious of not wanting to make a crappy second film.

I saw From Dusk Till Dawn for the first time last night (I know, I'm slow) and was surprised at how some of the biting scenes were similar to the Shaun ones ie the biting of arms and having to shoot best friend in head (like Shaun had to shoot his mum). There was even a similar line somethimg like "He change and kill all of us".. strange, I thought this film was suppose to be too rubbish to reference!

I really see no need for a Shaun sequel. It served its purpose really. Its purpose being a kick ass, hell of a funny, gory, awesome zombie movie with romance on the side. The secondary purpose being to show the rest of the world that Britain can make a bloody good film.
Just wait till Hot Fuzz....

I can imagine that being a perfect sequel actually. From Dusk Till Shaun. Hopefully they'd find a way to bring Ed back to normality. I can imagine Shaun and the gang backing away from the closing-in vampires while Ed is too busy watching the only surviving stripper.

Dusk Til Dawn is a great film, and definately not too rubbish to reference! Rober Rodriguez directing, Harvey Kietel, Quentin Tarantino and George Clooney (an absolutely fantastic actor) starring, plus a cameo from the bandit leader from Dawn of the Dead, SALMA HAYEK PERFORMING AN EROTIC DANCE... All amazing plus points. And then... VAMPIRES! It's a quality movie.

I think that from dusk til shaun wud be aGREAT idea, not as a sequel but as a totally different film. it could work as a sequel tho coz everythin cud be back 2 normal, i.e ed as a human agen coz sequels dont have to make sense ( like in the evil dead series, ash new all about the deadites and the necronomicon in the second film but he still went back and stuff)

ok was gonna start a new topic on this but saw this old thread so thought I would revive it.
I have read in Heat magazine (issue 299) in their review of whats on telly (coz SotD is out now on Sky Box Office) and they said that there are rumours of a sequel?!
Hearing this i came straight here to see if it was on the news but nothing! So how did Heat hear abt this rumour before us the loyal fans?!
I would scan the page in but me scanners broken!
No sequel, as in another SotD type film, but Simon and Edgar are making another film about a British Police man or something on the lines of that, with a working title of "Hot Fuzz".
The Good Chap
Dec 6 2004, 04:40 PM
From what littles been said of "Hot Fuzz" it sounds like thier going for a British Die Hard. (Cue Friends References.)
As for a Shaun 2. Even though the line,
"I Haven't had sugar in my tea since 1982",
was just a throw away gag it could be used as a set up for prequel. Shaun Zero.
Or sumfin!
Maybe they should make the sequel that Ed escapes and goes on the rampage, they could call it Dawn of the Shed.

The Shauning? I didn't see it on the list, but if you ignore the events of shauun of the dead and reuse the characters.... That actually seems much better suited to an episode of Spaced... but then you couldn't use the title, noooooo paradox

I definitely think we need more Pegg/Frost combo work on a movie. They are a great team... definitely hilarious. I think it would be too hard to do a direct sequal to SOTD... i mean it wraps up too well already. But they could easily reuse the shaun and ed character's in a new situation. From Dusk Till Shaun sounds fun. What about Ed Alive ? I know they're making Hot Fuzz... but it WOULD be nice for another horror/comedy. i never thought that someone could combine romance, comedy, and horror ALL legitimately into a movie without it being campy, until wright and pegg did it. I'd like to see more.

I think zombies are funnier than vamps, cos you could'nt say they were drunk and they would'nt look so unaware!
I feel Zombies are funnier as you just throw things at them or hit them but they keep walking slowly.
Oh if they make a sequel I hope they put Mike Watt in it!He's like Mr.T, but white and hairy!
