And we got hang out with Andrew Maxwell afterwards and be regaled by his tales of "weirdly sedate" orgies in a Chelsea club.

Will possibly get a couple of tickets for the Sarah Millican one tomorrow, it all hinges on whether I can get tickets tomorrow morning to a gig which is on the same night.

Tickets for the gig are stupidly overpriced, and despite wanting them to reform and indeed having the money, I'm opting out. It looks like they're writing a new album, so will probably tour/do fests anyway.

Millican it is, going to get 2 or 3 later.

Are you hearing this people?! I am your hotline to the stars!

Get your arses down here.

Nick Helm was very funny.
Everlong
Zoe, not sure if it's my work computer being an arse, but the listings on the kings place website only go to March, though things do go missing from web pages here.
Zoe
Spring will be online next week.
Ade
I will endeavour to make it down in February.
Zoe
Fabulous
PrincessKate
When my holidays renew in April, I shall come down.

Yeah yeah!
PrincessKate
You get Tom Basden, which is the main pull for me really.
I need to get off my arse and to London, evidently.
Zoe
I've got Tom Basden coming out of my ears.

Tim will probably come and watch that week too.
PrincessKate
That sounds more appealing to me than it probably should do.
If you get Craig Campbell or Tony Law I could probably convince Vicky to do some kind of Hen night by proxy down there.
Zoe
Craig Campbell is booked for March
PrincessKate
Foul Temptress.

I'll see if funds permit.
Kick in the Head
I am most looking forward to Basden and Greg Davies.

Agreed that Nick Helm was inspired - look out for that guy!
ipse dixit
Turns out I've seen Nick Helm before, doing a rather different set that was mostly about VHS tapes and Rocky. He was brilliant then as well, can't believe I didn't realise it was the same chap.
Zoe
Going to see Johnny Sweet on the 13th, Tim Key on the 20th and Brian Gittins on the 27th, all at the Soho.

Don't forget to come to Kings Place every Thursday! I'm always there

This week, Steve Hall (We are Klang), Tom Bell and one of my favourite MCs Ed Gamble.
Zoe
Really enjoyed Steve Hall last night, and what a lovely chap.

Next Week! Tom Basden, which will be awesome.
Zoe
Jonny Sweet was very sweet at the Soho last night. The company was also mighty fine, nice to see Adz, Smellz and Rory there for Tim Key too. Also in attendance were Hardeep Singh Kohli, Shappi Khorsandi and Rick Edwards (out rather late for a T4 Saturday). The Soho Theatre is clearly the place to be, which is good as I'm there for the next two weeks.
Zoe
I'm having a programming meeting later - I'd love to hear recommendations for acts you've seen and enjoyed so I can book them and take the credit

Thanks in advance!
PrincessKate
I know I am too late, but the usual suspects - Jason Cook, Brendon Burns etc etc blah.

I'm not meeting till 6pm. Zzzzzz, this meeting may have to involve a cocktail.
PrincessKate
Something pink, pink drinks are best.
I can't recommend Jason enough though, he's excellent.

Tiernan Doueb of Fat Tuesdays? Your lot have probably heard of him anyway.
Zoe
The competition!
PrincessKate
And Joe Lycett.

The competition!

It did occur to me. But I thought different nights, neither pricey, may as well suggest.

Something to add to the list of stupid things I've said.

And Joe Lycett.

Joe gets my vote. Great act.
There's somebody else as well... what's that guy's name..?
PrincessKate
I like that guy... A tall Manc? Birrova a geek?
He's not bad.
Zoe
Very interesting meeting. Autumn 2010 is going to be fan-fucking-tastic.

whitey is of course always on my list.
PrincessKate
Who did they go with?
Zoe
Not that sort of meeting, I tell them who I want, they talk about who they think would be good for the night and we start discussing specials and one-offs and the general direction of comedy at the venue. We pay them a flat fee to book the acts, and I'm the programming input from our end.

This happened over two pints and now I think I'm going to have to go beddy byes.

Zoz and Melissa Auf Der Maur.

Zoe
We haven't quite figured out how to use the camera...
Everlong
Very nice!

I'll be buying tickets for the Sarah Millican one at lunch if the work computers let me, it wouldn't show the seating plan bit last time.
Zoe
Seating is unreserved - first come, first to bagsy the good tables
Everlong
Done, got 2.

Also noticed Richard Herring on there, payday too, got excited then realised I'm in Skegness for the half term. Balls.
Zoe
Want to see Jimmy Carr taking the piss out of Chris Tarrant?

Got that email this morning too. Tempting.
Zoe
In a very not tempting way
Rua
When did we start doing this kind of balls?

It's hardly great (in fact it sounds average) but it's free, and I have absolutely nothing better to do midweek, literally.

I'd never pay to see that, but the free (and lulz at Tarrant) make it tempting.

Yes, I live a sad life.
Zoe
They can go roast themselves for all I care.

Zoe wins again.
Everlong
The description must be a bit tongue in cheek though. Tarrant = Legend??

Just read it through properly and it sounds like a re-hashed "An Audience with..." show, but with pisstaking.

This gets less tempting.

I'll go if I get desperate for a night out.
Sir_Robin_the_brave
Is this supposed to be like the Comedy Central roasts? I liked them, especially the Shatner one.
Everlong
I've not seen them.

I just feel like going to it as life is boring at the moment, I barely ever have spare cash and there's only so much staying in and reading/playing xbox etc I can do.

Even relatively lame stuff like that breaks the boredom.
