TO ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE OFF TO SEE BILL BAILEY IN THE NEAR FUTURE...
He.Is.Amazing.
That was
the best show ever!!
He told us that Sheffield Arena was the biggest gig he'd ever done, so, hopefully, nowhere else he is playing will be bigger *fingers crossed*
He was hilarious, his music was hilarious (as ever) and he dealt with the idiot hecklers on the end of my row (who were sat right next to me, with the most annoying laughs and awful breath ever!) really well.
He made himself laugh during one of the songs, but you could hardly notice unless you were on the first couple of rows... it was certainly noticable from the second row [/boasting]
To all you other people lucky enough to be going... it's a night you'll never forget.
And you'll never see Asda in the same way again...

I was actually emailed the tickets quite a few months ago when I ordered them. I just printed them out last week.
The show was great. Loved it and loved Bill, but the venue wasn't great for me. I think the huge arena just took something away from it. When I went to see the Part Troll tour it was in a little theatre and was more intimate and somehow suited his comedy better, I thought. Also, the fact that we were right at one side and could hardly see the screens (which he used in a lot of gags) due to some poor staging, was a bit annoying. (Particularly as the show wasn't cheap and I had paid the same price as everyone else!)

Tickets arrived today.
Just checked my seats and I am LIVID!!!!
I am practically at the very back of the arena, even though I ordered through Bill's website on the sole premise that the best seats were being reserved for fans.
I could have got
much better fucking tickets by just going through ticketmaster!
I am SO irritated!
If I'd been ordering on ticketmaster and it came up with those seats then I wouldn't even have bought tickets! I'd have just waited for the DVD.

I've seen Bill in small, intimate venues on several occasions.
However, this is irrelevant to the fact that I ordered through Bill's website on the condition that the 'best seats' would be reserved for fans that did so, and I have recieved absolutely cack seats.
If I'd been offered the same seats on ticketmaster I genuinely would not have bought them, for the very reason that I've seen Bill up close several times for about half, if not a third, of the price!
My seats are not only not the best seats... they're not even good seats!
I think they just reserved all the floor seats for fans, but that does not equate to reserving the best seats. You're far better off sat in the tiers of the front half than on the floor of the back half.

In other news, that's a really shoddy way to treat one's fans. You should all write and complain to Bill personally, courtesy of his website. Sure the fault won't lie directly with him, but this is all going on under his name. If he's not careful he'll turn into the Krusty the Clown of alternative comedy.
I've never understood stadium tours for comedians anyway, they strike me as purely soulless money grabbing exercises. I rarely want to see a band in a stadium (unless I know it's going to be an enormous spectacle), let alone one bloke on stage in a suit. If you're going to end up watching it on a screen, you might as well wait for DVD.

You do realise I, on a student's income, have forked out over sixty quid for these tickets and not recieved what I was told I was paying for?
They sent me an email back saying that they had no control over which seats the venue reserved for them. That is really not a legitimate excuse... If they had no control over what seats the venue was reserving for them, they shouldn't have posted a huge fucking statement on the website claiming that they were offering the 'best seats'. That is false advertising.

It's those happiness filters found on most modern computers. Windows Vista turns simple phrases like ''I stroked a puppy'' into ''I stamped on a puppy'', thus denying anyone the chance of truly expressing how happy they actually are. Microsoft feeds on misery, after all.

Ok, I'm being a little picky, it was still loads of fun, but it should have been pointed out that the area I was sitting in had a restricted view. It just meant that, for some of the jokes, we had no idea what was so funny as we couldn't see the screens. Ok, I didn't expect the best seats or anything, but it still doesn't seem fair.

So what happened?
The way the BIC is set out meant that shit seats were still very good, Bill bailey was amazing, we had 5 spare tickets too, which was a shame really cause Z forgot his phone and no one else could find anyone to come.
They recorded the show live straight onto CD during the gig, so we bought a copy of that too, it was quite a unique show I think, one of the camera men fell off his stand and Bill had to improvise for about 5-10 minutes, and as a result had a broom on the stage which a 'special guest' nearly fell on and it involved an amusing near-corpse.
Bill Bailey is amazing, I love him even more now. Some of the material was from Steampunk last year but it didn't take from it, it was still hilarious second time around.

Had a lovely time at Bill Bailey and had the added bonus of shaking an unfeasibly massive hand but couldn't stay for a drink with said hands unfortunately as the show was 3 hours long including the interval and I had to grab the last train. The show was fantastic and I laughed heartily. I was overwhelmed by the fact that in the 2 1/2 hours of comedy there wasn't a single repeated joke from any of his past material, except for one variation on the classic Aled Jones line.
My mate went to see the show the night before and apparently there was meant to be a bit with a telescopic alpine horn which was absent from our show. This is because apparently the end flew off it on Thursdays show and he then phoned up the help-line number printed on the underside of it.
