I am now even more upset that I totally missed them when they were here. sad.gif It's been too, too long since I've seen them.

Really? I hope so. It turned out to be very silly indeed.

It's pretty impressive. The rest have a fair amount of middle-aged spread especially Dave. He was once so skinny and boyish. I still loves him though.

Nice work, Hels. I would have loved to have seen it myself. And I would have been a major dork too. smile.gif

Somewhere in his attic he has a painting of Buddy Cole that has aged so much by now it looks like Madame. laugh.gif

Aye, Sef, Dave's a bit tubby but damned if he isn't still my favorite. I can't resist a gap-toothed grin.

Johnny Vegas sues Guardian

Good for him, thought it's a shame the articles' comments threads have gone, they made for amusing reading.

There's a whole thread dedicated to the tour. Go here, go here!

Saw Noble a couple of days ago, laughed like a giddy bastard. I've discovered a fun game to play whilst watching him his to write down any tangent he goes off on or stream of consciousness he begins but doesn't initially finish, and then see if he goes back to it. I thus disocvered he only finished one of his opening thoughts in the encore. I marvel at the man's brain.

I console myself with the fact that I got to see Ross Noble during a taping of Good News Week last month. He damn near took over the show, & it was brilliant. biggrin.gif

He's just played a gig in my old school hall. That's still quite a surreal thought.

I've just booked tickets for WEdnesday's Asylum at the Frog & Bucket, and have already sketched out plans to do the Brendon Burns/.Richard Herring gig in October.
Possibly Trevor Lock in July too, has anyone seen his stand up to give me an idea whether I should bother?

He was okay on that - when I've seen him he has always seemed a bit bored but with a high opinion of himself; and the 'I'm black and you ain't' schtick only has so many legs.
Zoe
Awww Reg is lovely. He slept on my sofa once when I was a student.

Didn't that story somehow involve your ass? Or his ass? I'm sure you have a 'comedian sleeping on the sofa' story involving asses. And that it's not true.

Yes, a finger up mine, and it's not true!

This is what happens when you're charitable to comedians.

I liked him taking about Minder on Screenwipe

But...Minder is smaller than you!

He went to RADA, I never knew that.

Well, I got the tickets as a birthday present for Dan, so he's contractually obliged to enjoy it.

And I'm definitely not putting my finger anywhere if he doesn't.

I saw an Aussie comedy group called The Chaser's last night in Brisbane and they were fantastic. Nearly got pulled up on stage a couple of times as I was in the front row, but managed to narrowly avoid such embarrassments. A great sow!

Possibly the *only* funny Australians on TV.
Completely forgot they were in Brisbane at the moment or I would have gone.

Anybody off up to the Edinburgh Festival this year? And if so, who are you planning on seeing? My must sees will be Ah Shit! It's Mick Sergeant! and Sarah Millican's Not Nice.
Atara
I keep meaning to have a better look through the brochure, but not knowing if Zeden is coming or not makes booking tickets pointless.
Zoe
Everyone should go and see my new flatmate's Edinburgh show 'Zoe Gardner's Fault'. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it's fabulous.
whitey
I shall endeavour to make time for that.
Zoe
I'm going to try and make a preview in the next couple of weeks. Actually, I'm going to try and make lots of previews. They're cheap and, what with the new job and all, I may not be able to make it north of the border this year - except maybe for a long weekend. Even then, I'm not sure I can face 7 hours of excited Americans on the train from Kings Cross.

Previews in mind, Daniel Kitson is at the BAC tonight, 'pay what you can'.

I'm reviewing again this year and currently my 'shortlist' is at about 60 shows. They all have to be approved though so I'm sure there'll be time to fit in recommendations.
whitey
I've not seen much in the way of previews this year. I'm off to see Mick Sergeant and Wil Hodgson tonight and will be trying to see Rhod Gilbert later in the month but so far I've missed quite a few.
Zoe
Last night I went to see 'Simon, Helen, Nick & Pete Call A Conclave And Elect The New Pope'. It was entertaining. I was made to limbo.

It was confusing seeing Simon Bird with facial hair, I genuinely believed he was a teenager.

I'm glad I'm still of an age where the actors playing teenagers on TV are predominantly older than I am.
It makes the dreams I have seem far less disturbing in the harsh light of day.

Last week we attended Laughter in Odd Places, with a mini comedy festival at the Museum of London! Out of three acts we saw Tim Key had me sweating with laughter, and Papy's Fun Club were lots of... fun.

I had an impromptu trip to see Andrew Maxwell at the Soho theatre on Friday. He am funny. My Irish friend, who'd never seen him before, was laughing like a maniac the whole way through.

You might have enjoyed being forced to limbo by him slightly more than I did.

He was dressed as a cardinal.

Have you ever had a dream like that?

No, the clergy have never floated my boat.
I did have a dream about him once, he took me to the Jewish quarter in Eastbourne.
I don't think Eastbourne has a Jewish quarter, does it?
whitey
Mick Sergeant was fantastic. Do whatever you have to to see his show.
Zoe
I very much enjoyed him last time I saw him. Is he back with Donna yet?
