To anyone watching it on Skyone. You might want to Download "Lay Down Your Burdens Part II" the one airing on Skyone is only going to be the hour long version, not the 90 min version that we got here and according to Ron Moore (The head honcho) the 60 min version is pretty much a confusing mess.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA NEWS
SCI FI announces Galactica spin-off!
WEDNESDAY - APRIL 26, 2006
by Darren Sumner
By the Lords of Kobol ... The SCI FI Channel has stunned fans today with the announcement of Caprica, a spin-off series from its top-rated Battlestar Galatica. SCI FI calls the potential new show "television's first science fiction family saga," centering on the history of the Adama family and the birth of the Cylons.
Set more than 50 years before the events of Battlestar Galactica, Caprica takes place on the capital world of the Twelve Colonies. There humankind thrives, living in a peaceful society with the benefits of high technology. But the development of an advanced, robotic, artificial life form is about to change everything.
The show is in development by Galactica executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, 24 writer Remi Aubuchon, and NBC Universal Television Studio.
Here is the network's own description of the series:
The people of the Twelve Colonies are at peace and living in a society not unlike our own, but where high-technology has changed the lives of virtually everyone for the better. But a startling breakthrough in robotics is about to occur, one that will bring to life the age-old dream of marrying artificial intelligence with a mechanical body to create the first living robot -- a Cylon. Following the lives of two families, the Graystones and the Adamas (the family of William Adama, who will one day become the commander of the Battlestar Galactica) Caprica weaves corporate intrigue, techno-action and sexual politics into television's first science fiction family saga.
The announcement comes as part of SCI FI's development slate of original scripted series, mini-series, reality shows, and new late-night programming, with no word on when Caprica might go into production or premiere on the cable channel. The development slate is a long-look ahead at what the network has planned and likely not a formal pick-up of the show -- and some series, for one reason or another, never see the light of day.
If the show receives an order to go into production, certainly don't expect to see it air this year.
Count on GateWorld to continue to follow developments as they happen. The third season of Battlestar Galactica premieres this October on SCI FI.

What does that mean, anyway?

What about
Lost in Space?
Anyway, if done right this could be an interesting show, but it sounds too much like a cheap cash-in on the success of the revitalized, reimagined
Battlestar Galactica. While there is certainly a snowball's chance in Hell (I'm not being
too generous, here) that it could be a success, it seems a little too risky to work. At the end of the day, I wouldn't be surprised to find not a
Frasier, but an
AfterM*A*S*H at our doorstep...

At Least to they are taking the risk. I dont think its going be anything like a "Lost In Space" I am thinking it will probibly be more of a "Dynasty" Meets "24" with a bit of "I-Robot" (Book not craptacular Movie)Thrown in. All three of the exec's on this show have a good track record of producing quality TV. It might not be as popular as "BSG" But it will be interesting.

I don't mean to insinuate it'll be anything like Lost in Space, I just take issue with their claim that it will be the first science fiction family saga.
I'll certainly give it a chance, in the event they actually go through with filming.

The most exciting news on this front involved Battlestar Galactica, which airs on the NBC Universal owned Sci Fi Channel. Debuting later this year will be a Web series spin-off for the acclaimed series called Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance. Lasting ten episodes, The Resistance will fill in the gap between season two and the upcoming season three.
Thank you,
IGN, for finally reporting something worthwhile.
Though they're only expected to run about 15 minutes each, I'll certainly point my browser in their direction. I just wish I knew
when to do so.

By some means, I finally managed to obtain the first two episodes of the season and, having spent an hour, hour-and-a-half wrestling with the laptop to try and convince it that, yes, my LCD TV can display 1280x720 without its needing to freeze every time I try and set it above 800x600, I have spent some quality time with both.
Indeed, frack. This will be a heck of a season!
I love how deliciously slimy and tormented Gaius is, in particular.

Actually If you could afford a car and the 50 to 70 bucks (Based on 2002 Ford Ranger pick-up est 23 miles to a gallon highway on a 19 gallon gas tank, from New York, NY to Raleigh NC one way) Cable might be cheaper. Now If I was still living In Syracuse that would be another story completly.
