sad.gif Not much on there really. I've registered and all you can seem to do is start a petition to save Royston Vasey.

Maybe they'll put some more extras on later *feeling hopeful*

Oh right.

But here's something interesting for the Pegg-Leggs among us. Unless I've mis-read this with Freudian hope, it would appear that we get to see Simon's arse!!! ohmy.gif biggrin.gif tongue.gif

The film has just been reviewed in Total Film. While not an enthusiatic review (2 out of 5) on their interest curve the highest point is the appearance of "Simon Pegg's Arse" !

Towards the end of the FilmFour logo I'm sure I can hear the sound used in SotD for when the guy they hit with the car raises his head and Shaun says 'Oh, thank god for that!' before Ash kicks in again. Or is it in another bit? It's definitely from the film.

*snerk* Well, they're only human, after all.

(2 out of 5 though? Ouch. What says Empire?)

Ooh, TF and Empire at odds...there's a shocker. happy.gif Can't I speed forward 8-9 months to the DVD? Please?

Related note: I popped in on my co-worker, David, the other day and scared the shit out of him growling "Is that DAAAAAAAAVE?!" He had no fucking clue, but I was amused. Pfft.

Did anyone get the Guardian on Saturday? The Guide was offering free preview tickets for screenings next week in London, Manchester and Edinburgh, with a Q and A with the League afterwards. I've got mine! I'll give you my verdict when I can.

Well, I went to see the film last night - and it was excellent. I would say fans have nothing to worry about, but I know there'll be a few picky ones out there. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was funny, clever, well-acted, brilliantly put together and far better than it had any right to be - my review should be posted soon (though its not especially revealing - I've kept it spoiler-free, so its mainly ramblings on how good it is).

Afterwards, there was a Q & A session with Mark, Jeremy and Reece (Steve was busy in Ireland shooting Lassie - not literally with a gun and that, but the new movie), where they talked about the trepidation they had with making a movie and how they came up with the concept behind it. There were a few dumb questions from the audience (we had to hear the 'where Papa Lazarou came from' story again, and some questions were answered on their appearance on Jonathan Ross I went to), but there were a few nuggets of interest. They've certainly got ideas for a potential film sequel, as well as another non-Royston Vasey feature they were originally going to do, but it didn't go anywhere. They mentioned their pantonmime-esque tour later this year, entitled 'The League of Gentlemen Are Behind You', and they talked about alternate endings and scenes they were going to include in the film, but removed before shooting for creative, financial, technical, etc. reasons. So a very interesting evening and, of course, a great film!

This year's Shaun of the Dead? I bloody hope so!

Its short, but very funny. And quite surprising and dirty. He appears at the same time as Peter Kay - and check out the credits at the end to see their character names!

EEEEK! i REALLY can't wait now! 'Dirty' and Simon Pegg is a winning combination if you ask me!!!!!

The premiere was surprisingly quiet. But I think the weather played it's part. It absolutely pissed down. I was close to suffering hyperthermia at one point as I was soaked through and shaking like nothing else! Add to that I had an old bloke on my arse and cracking his brolly on my head every 10 seconds for the best part of the afternoon. Wouldn't have minded so much given the usual crush you get at these things but no-one was behind him! Bleegh!! mad.gif

Still, got Mark, Steve and Reece's autographs on the christmas special poster. Reece was in an interesting mustard (or as most people would term it...yellow!) suit while Jeremy was in an equally interesting blue one. They were very sweet and joking with the crowd, particularly Mark. When given a Star Wars leaflet to sign he said 'Star Wars? Dreadful film. It should retitled 'Star Wars Episode 3: Mildly Better Than The Other Two'!

Also met (yes...MET!!) Simon, and saw Nick (felt really bad that I had nothing on me for him to sign. Sorry Nick! sad.gif ), Victoria Wood, Michael Sheen, Julia Davies (I think I was the only person to spot her!), Miranda Richardson, Peter Davidson. Not the usual parade of no marks (but then they're all on celebrity love island at the moment). But still very quiet for a premiere.

Ooh sounds ike you had a fun and productive evening! smile.gif I'm soo jealous that you saw Nick!

Darn you all to heck, with your enticing, albeit uneventful, premieres. wink.gif

Nothing like that happens here, unless you count that one time Bob Denver (Gilligan) came to town to preside over the opening of a new television station which has subsequently gone off the air.

Got me ticket and have swiped another 4 ft poster , at this rate i will have completly depleated their stock. biggrin.gif

I’m Not sure I should go, I like the T.V series and I watched the first five minutes and thought it was funny but my brother he is not convinced. SHOULD I SEE IT TOMORROW???

On a related note the complete box set is out now for locals ONLY!

Also what are in Mr. Brisses sausages? I have only seen 5 of the first series.

It tells you on the 2nd series DVD 'special stuff' , but i only have the VHS , so i don't know. I speculate that as the shop is called 'Hilary Briss and son's' , its his offspring. biggrin.gif

I thought it was human blood, or cocaine or penis something like that.

It does look like a big old bag of coke when he throws it at Morris.

Ahh, the nose bleeds.....
Chapman Baxter
Positive review of the film and interesting interview with the League.

I didn't think the precise nature of the special stuff was ever spelled out, and can't remember the second series DVD doing so. I always assumed it was some form of human meat, but seem to recall that the Drury Lane live show contained a song (which isn't on the DVD) that implied it was cocaine.
fear_of_pop
It's absolutely not Cocaine.

(in my opinion, naturally!)

Saw brief clip of Simon and his fabulous glasses with Nick at the League of Gent premiere last night. And did anyone see Reece Shearsmith's suit? There are no words...oh wait there are: Yellow. So very yellow. Painfully yellow. *lowers head*

Serafina_Pekkala
Special stuff is a McGuffin and nowt more ... and don't ask me about the custard pimp suit. I have a fear of anything small and black and yellow cos they remind me of stinging insects.

Trinny and Susannah say NEVER WEAR BLACK WITH COLOUR cos it cheapens it. When i marry Reece, we will have to burn it and make sure it doesn't happen again.

rabbit57i
I think he Reece looked a lot better than Jeremy. Powder blue is NEVER good for a suit.
feck off!
We all know Mark has it with those amazing Mr Chinnery teeth.
