Has anyone heard of a film called Captain Eager?

I've heard bits about it but haven't had the chance to see it or find it anywhere?! I've been told it stars Mark Heap and is pure gold tongue in cheek Sci-Fi.

If anyone knows anything or can point me in the right direction that would be superb as i can never get enough of Mark Heap

I think it's a porn movie. I seem to remember Channel 5 showing this a while back.

I may be wrong, but I think it was a 2 parter thing on channel 4 when they had a comedy session late at night, with one off shows to showcase them or something like that. And if I remember right, Mark was only in it for a bit, but Kevin Eldon was one of the main characters.
Baz
Nope, I was wrong. This was what I was on about, although I'm sure this had Mark Heap in it.

Thanks everyone for the help but actually found something out about it. The full title of the film is CAPTAIN EAGER AND THE MARK OF VOTH.

Seems Mark shot it ages ago (about 2 years) and they've been campaigning to get it released since.

There's a website (www.captaineager.co.uk) if you fancy checking it out.

Looks really funny.... biggrin.gif

Absolutely, afterall if Mark Heap was in it, it's got to be funny!

I checked out the website again and a forum has been added so maybe iff people start chatting on that we can get the film going?! fingers crossed anyway.

Here's the link if you're interested...

CAPTAIN EAGER AND THE MARK OF VOTH SCREENING
A new film staring members of the Spaced team that looks like a cult classic in the making.

"a well realised pastiche that recalls the halcyon days of sci-fi with an equal mix of humour and affection"
Film Review

The film opens on the 18th but on the 20 of April there is a screening followed by Q&A from cast Tamsin Greig (Blackbooks, Greenwing, Shaun of the Dead), Mark Heap (Spaced, Greenwing, Shaun of the Dead) and the director Simon Davison.

Just watched the trailer:

Looks weird, but perhaps that's just the trailer not giving anything away.
I'd be interested in seeing this.

It looks very B-grade & amateurish, I'm sorry to say. And like it was made for TV. I don't know that I'd be bothered watching it, personally. mellow.gif

I have to say I wasn't at all impressed by the trailer either. Between that and the one-star review in the current issue of Empire, that's about as much dissuasion as I need. I can't say I'll be sorry if I miss it.

I think that's the point.

Doesn't mean it'll be any good though .... but i'd still like to see it.

I know what you're saying & it's probably true, but there are good ways of doing B-grade & then there's just plain B-grade. This looks like the latter. wacko.gif

But if enough people say it's worth seeing (once they've seen it), then I'll probably want see it too. smile.gif
