Read more there.

I think its a bad idea that he is doing this, it will just be Evil Dead but with butt loads of CGI if they are doing another Evil Dead i say Evil Dead 4 with a new story mad.gif

Well you can't really complain. After all it's there film to change/mess about with.

I can't see how it could be a bad remake.

I share your concerns. It'll probably be CGI'd to the hilt and released with a 12 certificate.

Oh well.....where's my copy of the original? Best live in the past and save the future for the optimists.

Oh my god, that is the worst idea.....ever. Does Sam Raimi realise that he has already 're-made' The Evil Dead? When he released a film called......err what was the name again, oh yeah, that's right. EVIL DEAD 2

This is going to be terrible.....Evil Dead 3 was bad enough. You just know that this re-make is going to be gore-free.

I'm sulking now......

Although all Raimi completists (including myself) will think that this film will suck.(...& it will.) I do think it is a good idea for it to be made.
I think Sam's being clever.
Think about it... A cack remake gets knocked out.... people see it who have never seen the original.... A new found interest grows for the original movies.... Then finally, Mr Raimi pours loads of cash into the production of ... The Evil Dead 4.

It'll happen. You mark my words.

....mark them!

Don't really care if its remade, as much as I love the film, and at least it has the active involvement of the orginal creators. And I agree that it will spark interest in the franchise thereby creating enough momentum for a full blown Raimi-Campbell installment. Besides, Ain't it Cool reports that rumours suggest Chan-wook Park (director of Oldboy) might be involved in a Ghost House project such as this one...

Good on him. I'd cash in as well if I was him.

You know what? As long as he doesn't try to pretend the original never happened, I'm game. I don't care if it's bad. If it is, I can just ignore it. Unlike some OTHER remakes we know of.

I was also a bit perplexed at the whole "remake Evil Dead" concept, as I was damn sure Evil Dead 2 was just Evil Dead with more money. It was always more of a remake than a sequel.

The remake is gonna suck big time,

i like all the films but the first one is my least favorite. i like the thrid one cause Ash's charactor is kick ass it in.

i know ED4 is gonna rock hard, no matter how bad it is

I got to see (& hear) Bruce Campbell speak this past weekend at a book signing. Of all the Evil Dead projects possibly in the works, the only question anybody asked was about the remake. He said that it will probably be a "reworking". No Ash, just a bunch of new characters. I don't know what to think about that.

Got our picture taken with him. I look like a dear caught in the headlights as usual, and had no idea what was going on next to me until I saw the photo.

Rabbit, you are now offficially the owner of what is quite possibly the best photo in the universe, ever.

Exhibit a. Playful beard pulling
Exhibit b. Look at who is doing the playful beard tugging biggrin.gif

At first I was horrified at the idea of the remake, its like Madonna covering American Pie, just utter wrongness, but I too will just ignore it if it sucks to painful proportions, and love the Raimi posse regardless. Hopefully, hopefully hopefully, we will see a 4th installment, which will make everything better.

(Actually I'm getting to watch Bubba Ho-tep for the first time tommorow happy.gif is it wrong to be horribly excited by this?)

Never! It's a great film. When I complimented Mr. Campbell on that movie, he said that I had great taste. happy.gif
